This school has a great program for "gifted" children as well as a great "special ed" program. I love the principal because she is very involved and it is obvious that she genuinely cares for the students and the school. I love the art and music programs. They did just change art teachers so I don't really know how the new one is but I am sure they wouldn't have hired her if she didn't provide a quality art program. The previous art teacher was offered a better position some where else and my daughter and I were very that disappointed to hear she was leaving! Over all I think this is one of the best elementary school in Cobb County!

I have three children who are attending Baker Elementary and I must say that they LOVE IT! Everyday they have come home raving about the teachers and what they are learning. I have 1 in second grade and 2 in first grade and all of the teachers have been very informative in keeping parents up to date on everything that they are doing. I received paperwork from each teach about ways to help the kids with their homework the way that they are teaching it to them in class. I can't wait to see what the rest of the schoolyear has instore.

My daughter is in the 1st grade and is thrilled to go in each morning. In the afternoon she is just as thrilled of what she had learned. Exceptional teachers, staff, and parent involvement in this school puts a smile on my face.

We have had children in this for 5 years now and have 5 more years to go and we absolutely love this school. The teachers are great and the administration is on top of everything going on in the school. They are very approachable when there is a problem.

I have two children who are students at Baker ES (1st & 3rd grades) and they are shining! The school offers a warm and friendly environment, with awesome teachers. We have loved participating in extracurricular activities (like Science Fair, Family Fun events, Book Fairs, etc.) and we look foward to our children getting involved in more! It seems that diversity is embraced and children of all races are able to receive a great experience. The principal, administration, and teachers have done a great job building a positive school culture at Baker ES. I hope the local Middle School is on point as well!

I have been very impressed by this school. My child entered Kindergarten last year and will be entering First Grade there this year. Although by the end of the year he was to the point of hating school, it was because he wasn't acclimated to the conformity of being in school yet. The Kindergarten teacher was understanding of his situation and worked with him throughout the year to acclimate him to being in school. He looks forward to going back there for First Grade Next year. The only criticism I can offer is that the administration is lacking in compassion and speaks to adults like they are children, however, having grown up with a teacher/principal as my mother, I understand that they are used to dealing with children and it is unitentional. I am pleased with this school overall.

My daughter has attended Baker since kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. I have been very impressed with the teachers in every grade, she has become an avid reader and is well above grade level in reading, math, science and social studies. The teachers are enthusiastic and responsive to parents. We've seen 3 very different pricipals in the last 6 years, there have been some adjustments with each one but overall I have been pleased with the administration.

Let me just say I love baker! I am a parent and teacher at Baker w(just got there this year - Aug. 2007) I actually live in a different school district, but brought my children with me to Baker because of what I see in the teachers and leadership. I see Baker from the inside and outside and it is an awesome school! The teachers have lots of experience and are very attentive to students, making sure they are challenged and progressing well. No child seems to be slipping through the cracks because whether the student needs to be helped or challenged, the student's needs are met. That is a rare find. The principal is also very attentive and knows well what is going on in the classrooms. I am very happy with my twins' 2nd grade experience with Ms. P and Ms. C. I highly reccommend Baker!

My daughter was a third grade student at Baker this year and I cannot say enough about her teacher. The interesting fact about the teacher is that he was a male and I believe the only male third grade teacher. She was very apprehensive about the situation going in, but the progress she made this year in the classroom was remarkable. I only hope that at her next school (we are moving) she finds a teacher who is as interested in the educational well being of her as much as Mr. M was!

I have just relocated from Florida, and I am very pleased with the way my daughter's first grade teacher(Ms Kennebrew) worked extremely hard with the kids to bring out the best in each one of them. In addition, I love the way they are helping the kids by being better readers, by making them read 22 books in a month. I now myself use the same format and enjoyed buying books to read. I will definitely recommend Baker Elementary to other parents.

We have 4 children in our family. Our children were at Baker Elem. from 1996-2004. Because of Baker Elem. teachers, all of my children love to read and excell in math. We moved to Tennesse in 2004. During the first year(in TN) my children were way ahead and recieved straight A's and were not challenged at all. We had quite a year of adjustment. Baker Elem. encouraged all children to strive to meet high standards in academics and creative thinking. Teachers and parents at Baker focused on building self-estem and helping others. The Quest (Science)Lab offered in 3rd grade was excellent. Also, Target(gifted program)benefited my children as well.

My daughter attended this school from K to 5th grade. The quality of education in this school has changed and should be reevaluated by the school board. Stay in-tuned to what your child is learning and stay involved with his/her activities on a daily basis!! My daughter did not receive the education she deserved in the 5th grade at this school.

Baker Elementary is a wonderful school where the children are put first. The teachers truly care about their students. If a child is behind or has a problem, the administration and staff work extra hard to make sure that child works on grade level. Baker's tests scores are great and the effort shows in all the children do and the smiles on their faces each day.

My child attended this school from 1-3 grade and had a great educational foundation. There is a new principal this year so I cannot rate that category but your child will have a good education at this school.
