North Springs High School

This school is an absolutely the worst place for a student to attend! The teacher's & staff NEVER return phone calls & e-mails.My honor's & gifted student who skipped two graded attended for one semester & became very depressed and ill from being there. I had to take her out so that her stellar academic record will not suffer even more. Her grades started to drop because of the lack of organization & disrespect from a teacher. Not to mention when her teacher's ever decided to show up. Dr. Stueve is the most ineffective & hands off principal that I have ever met. Some teacher will find the need NOT to put grades in for several weeks & blame your kid,to cover up their inability to keep a grade sheet, grades mysteriously changed. It took me months & several calls to the Fulton superintendent to get any type resolution & a call back from staff. It took me 2 months to get a report card and 4 months for transcripts. My child's current school had to fix their mistakes although she was ahead 1 year prior to attending NSHS. We hated this place so much we moved back to our home state & my child is SAFE & is excelling. The Latin teacher is the best ! Poor leadership,poor teacher's ='s NSHS!

The school has a horrible administration and all the great teachers have either left or are leaving. What is wrong with the Fulton County School Board and Leadership at the county level that would allow the administration to run off the best and brightest of teachers? It is really a horrible place for students and teachers. Do not send your child currently to North Springs Charter High School.

I enjoy going to North Springs, it's just not as amazing as I thought it would be. They widely promote the magnet program, but when you get to school no one even knows about it. None of the teachers have a clue about next year's academies, which I have been very confused about. I am in two on-level classes, math and spanish, and the kids are HORRIBLE. The teachers are not even trying to make these kids learn. A lot of my friends agree that the on-level classes are awful and you can't learn anything. The honors classes, on the other hand, are wonderful! The teachers are great and they engage the students so everyone doesn't just learn, but actually has fun in the class. Even if you aren't an honors student normally, take an honors class because the teachers will really help you learn the stuff. All in all, North Springs averages out to be an okay school, it could be better!

THIS SCHOOL IS JUST . . HMMM NOT AS GREAT AS THEY SAY IT IS . The school is dirty and filled with roaches crawling all up the walls , locker rooms, and bathrooms . There is never tissue in the bathrooms and the toilets are GROOOSSS ! Janitorial staff is slacking on the cleaniness. The teachers aren't as bad, except how they don't communicate very clearly and dont follow up with you. I feel as a student uncomfortable going here, It's unclean and just a bunch of lies that were in the magnet contract . I feel as if this school is a waste , the counselors won't change your schedule so you can have the classes that you need to graduate and complete for your college pathway. This needs alot improvement and I clearly see there is no Charter . You lost that along time away , because you wouldn't be suffereing for funding things at the school .

DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT ...enroll your student at this school, UNLESS.....you want to pay (HIGH) fees to a school that is portraying itself as a "CHARTER" school!! Do the research, they lost this a long time ago due their LOW scores! Also if you want your children influenced by ALL the other "BAD" students there! Oh lets not leave out the caring Administration, that will NEVER solve any issue that may arise with your student, The wonderful Principal that NEVER returns phones calls, until SHE feels ready, the other staff that once your child have an issue (they label them as the problem) instead of getting to the root of the issue! This school is a "JOKE" academically and sports wise.....this school could possibly recover if: they clean house by replacing administration and allowing ONLY district children to attend the school......."if" you are considering this school...RECONSIDER...READ THE OTHER REVIEWS AND IF YOU NOTICE MOST OF THE PARENTS ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUES

My child had great potential and was selected to attend the Magnet program. Unfortunately the Magnet program is a ruse, where achieving students are used to improve the grade level of a school with very low performing general students. This program is there only so that the school can get better government funding. Unfortunately for my child, he was pulled down by the general population at the school and did not end up performing very well. The teachers and staff don't have much interest in the students, and we found it very hard to get ANY information from anyone. We found the school very apathetic.. Don't send your child here!

Leadership is a problem here. I feel like teachers and parents should work together to make a successful student...and while they SAY that's what they are all about, they're not. I know from personal experience. I've tried to contact at least two different teachers and actually had one write a very insulting email about me intended for the principle, but she accidentally sent it to me instead. I know EXACTLY what they think of parents who are trying to be involved...and Lisa Stueve did nothing. I didn't even get an apology. Needless to say, I pulled my daughter out of there. Her grades have improved and she said she is much happier at her new school as she complained about how the teachers/staff and students interact with each other. No respect. No leadership.

Average academic school. Some great teachers, but most are just fair. The school lacks leadership where it's principal is concerned. Dr Lisa Stueve is between fair and in competent at best. Several good teachers have left the school because of her inability to lead. Will not be sending our next child to this school next year unless there is a change in leadership at this school.

North Springs is a magnet school for both math/science and performing arts. I am proud to have had all four of my children attend there for at least some part of their high school careers.

I have had one child graduate from NSCHS and another still there. I can say from personal experience that this is a top notch school in every respect. North Springs teaches individuals how to get along in the real world. We had our choice to go to another North Fulton School without diversity, but this school is much more appealing. Academically, both children have gotten excellent educations. My oldest scored close to perfect on the SAT's because of the strong education received at this school. The teachers motivated as they educate. This school allows students the freedom of being true to themselves. Acceptance is a top attraction of this school. Because of the diversity of interests, everyone fits in somewhere. I couldn't be happier that my children chose to attend this magnet school. An added bonus is the new, amazing principal that came this past year. She listens to parents.

I have two children that attend this school. I am very pleased with the school. I moved here a year ago and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to find a quality school for my children. North Springs is great. I am happy that we chose this school.

northsprings high is a great school,but there jv football team coaches are really bad,and it seems that the head coach parks does not care about the jv team theres no support at all for these children,this is very sad,my son could not wait to play his 1st high school football,this has been a nightmare,and his spirit has been crushed

Sorry for making two posts, but one thing I forgot to mention was one reviewer said the regular classes are 'complete chaos' and 'no learning takes place'. That's complete bogus. Speaking from person experience in both honors and regular classes (as a matter of fact, I've had at least one of each for every subject), I can say that the regular classes are NOT chaos, they simply lack the same atmosphere and motivation as the honors classes. The kids just seem to be more apathetic towards school and whatever we're learning but the actual teaching is not all that different and all the teachers are still great people who care about the students. Again, if you're in honors classes, North Springs is as good as any public or private school in Atlanta. If you're in regular classes, it is still above average but would be very boring for very bright kids.

My two daughters are honors level/AP students. One graduated last year, and the other is a Junior this year. North Springs has provided a richly diverse learning experience for both. Academics is definitely a strong component, but I would say the opportunities for leadership have been a stronger component for them. They have been able to lead in totally different areas of the school, found friends who share their interests and values, and teachers who inspire. The ethnically diverse atmosphere, in our opinion enhances, and does not detract from their school experience. If your student is willing to get involved (and now that North Springs is a charter school, each student is required to have 2 extracurriculars each year) there is something for everyone at this school.

Everday it seems like there is a fight at lunch or someone has brought weapons to school. It is not a very good place to be learning. It seems like everyone is divided into groups of their race. Thankfully I am a senior leaving the school and attending Boston University, and I'm not going to come back to see teachers because they don't even know my name.

North Springs has the most superior academics of any high school in our region. The principal, Dr. Ferguson, has been a master at assembling a high-profile, highly educated and recognized staff of teaching professionals from all over the world. The classes are small and diverse. When my student goes off to university, it will be with excellent preparation in education, as well as with an understanding of the wide world of people and cultures into which he will be stepping. North Springs Charter High School is a public high school and it is top notch!

October, 2007 If your child will be taking all Honors classes then the academics are OK, otherwise the classroom is pure chaos and very little learning takes place. No school spirit, very little involvement by the kids except to go to school. Go somewhere else!

Three of my children have attended North Springs. One daughter and my stepson have just graduated, and my other daughter will be a junior in August. All three love their high school. On the whole, the teaching has been excellent, and in every grade they have had one or two inspiring teachers each. The performing arts and science magnets combine to attract students with a wide diversity of academic interests, and we have enjoyed meeting some highly talented young people through our children's friendships. This year the school will send students to Dartmouth, NYU, MIT, and many to UGA and GSU. If you are looking for a school where your children will have the opportunity to reach their fullest academic potential, explore their creative talents, and join an intellectually, socioeconomically and racially diverse and dynamic community, North Springs fits the bill.
