Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My twin boys will be new kindergardeners to OLA this coming school year 2013/14. My husband and I decided to put the in the short summer school program that is available. We thought I would help our kids adjust and get comfortable with their surroundings. We are so happy about our decision. The staff that we have met so far have been kind and attentive to the kids. I truely feel that the structureed environment that is provided will help my boys flourish. Sincerly, a mother who loves her kids.

This school is very good and has a lot of potential. The worse it had was its principal, but she has been replaced fortunately. Hopefully the new principal will be more respectful to parents. One thing that shocks me is the little science that is taught at this school. I understand that it is a catholic school, but at the end of the day disciplines like science, technology, engineering, physics and medicine is what drives the world forward. I have never heard of science fairs and the all female staff is only interested in Arts and languages which is what they better understand. Please add more to the science curriculum.

Great school academicaly! However, every year seems to be some questionable admissions stories (siblings not accepted without any logical reasoning). Administration staff is also, not good communicators / follow upers on the issues rised.

After spending nearly 7 years in the public school system, I can't say enough wonderful things about OLA. We switched to the private sector for a number of reasons, but one of them was the public school systems constant focus on standardized testing. I felt like they had the kids so focused on how they did on tests like the Iowa or CRCT that they became stressed out. OLA administers these same tests, but because they are taught so well in the everyday classroom there isn't the need to ram testing anxiety down their throats. Also, the school places a lot of focus on family. I love that they still let kids be kids (cookies are okay for birthdays, singing in the classrooms in the younger grades is commonplace). I love the morals and accountability that is being instilled in all of my children. The only drawback I have found is the cafeteria. The school does not serve hot lunch, but does offer a campus cuisine option which must be ordered by the day before. I must admit my kids love it, but I would prefer the option of having a healthy hot lunch option. We struggled with whether or not to send our kids to private school, but have found that OLA exceeded all of our expectations.

A wonderful Catholic school with caring teachers and strong family support. The only drawback (and it's a big one) is the lack of a strong middle school math program. My children went on to Marist and then to competitive colleges; however, the lack of pre-algebra spots available in middle school caused them to be behind in math in high school. Every other subject they excelled in and were well prepared for after their years at OLA. Switch your students to Marist or another middle school, if possible to avoid the math deficiency.

I can't begin to express how pleased we have been with OLA. It provides a quality education and makes all feel as though we are part of a community. It will certianly prepare students for Marist.

OLA is a great school with fantastic teachers/students. had a great experience and was more than ready to continue at Marist. I suspect that the 1st (poor) student review was from a former student that finds it easier to blame outside factors for his/her own failures.

Worst school i ever went to. It did not prepare me at all for when i went to Marist. Unless you hate your child, dont send them here.
