Both my kids (6th grade, 3rd grade) have been at Davis since kindergarten and we've been very pleased. Not only are they receiving an excellent education, but they are also developing a lifelong love for learning and becoming critical thinkers. The teachers create a warm, welcoming environment where children learn the connection between mindsets and outcomes.

What was once a great unique school, has crumbled into a conformed mess. I was a student at this school from 1994-2001. At this time the school was known for its academic rigor, challenging subjects, exceptional teaching, and first class special needs program. While the academics have fallen slightly, nothing has dwindled like the teaching. This is due to the administration's arbitrary decisions to fire teachers, even the best ones without much known cause seemingly solely based on who the administration like. The morality of this school has certainly come under scrutiny of late due to their decision to cut the special needs program in order to obtain a "better image". All of these changes have come since the introduction of the new head of school and principal in 2008. It is difficult to fathom why the new administration feels the need to ruin what was a high caliber and and high morality institution with these boneheaded decisions but I know that this was not the Davis Academy I attended. Think long and hard before sending your child to a school where consistency is non existent, even for the most effective and appreciated teachers.

My son is far ahead of his contemporaries in Public school. The reading and math programs are excellent. The atmosphere is loving and the community is very supportive. The Jewish studies are creative and interesting.

This school is an excellent school but I think it should have more diversity. As you can see if you look at the chart it says that 99% of the people are white I honestly think that needs to change.

This school is very disorganized and should not be considered.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
