The Epstein School is an amazing learning and academic community. Students are taught academics in a warm and loving environment. Each student is educated at his/her level. Appropriate developmental strategies are used by all faculty with students. Student teacher ratios are excellent. Small group, large group and individualized instruction takes place throughout the day in order for students to make huge academic, social and emotional gains. Kids are happy and engaged during the day. Expectations are set, and learning is set into place for students to achieve goals.

Academic excellence was a given when deciding where to send our child to a private school. Epstein is one of the top schools in the city and holds national recognition. For us, academics weren't everything. We weren't sure what we were looking for but when we walked into Epstein, we felt it. The students were self confident, polite, grounded, and clearly happy. As a current parent I'm constantly amazed at the personal growth and life lessons they teach our child. In kindergarten they teach them how to make eye contact and introduce themselves, give and receive compliments, how to give a presentation to their class and how to handle conflicts on the playground. I am incredibly proud to have him attend this school and extremely fortunate that we have this quality of a school in Atlanta.

I am so proud that our two children attend the Epstein School. They have been enrolled here since preschool and our oldest is about to enter Middle School. I have two very different students, one that challenges himself very hard and one that struggles with a learning disability. Epstein has been able to accommodate both of our children in a nurturing and supportive environment, enabling both students to succeed and achieve their own goals at a pace that is individually appropriate. Beyond the academics, we love that the values we teach at home are being reinforced at school. We are constantly stopped and told how polite and well mannered our children are. We are proud of the mensches they are becoming and the values they see at The Epstein School, where it is not just about what goes on in the classroom but about contributing to the community and building good character.

The Epstein School is an anathema. Students are treated well if they fit their mold. If not they are humiliated or ignored. Their Hebrew program is good. However, their secular academics are poor and they hire any warm body that they can find to "teach" there. Their secular academics fall far below competing private schools. Learning a second language is the norm in many other countries: however, is a bragging point at Epstein. Their educational counselors are grossly inept and look for problems in children rather than for their strengths. That is except for teacher's children, who are absolved of all poor behavior. In summary the school is a mean spirited mess and does not follow the spirit of Judaism.

I have a child who graduated from the Epstein School recently and all I can say is that he was fabulously prepared for High School. He is excelling in an all honors curriculum, but more importantly, the Epstein School prepared him to be a responsible, curious student who is confident in who he is and unafraid to mix and mingle with all sorts of people. The bilingual curriculum (which was trilingual by the time he graduated) has allowed him to jump right into 2nd year Spanish and he's finding it easy as pie. I am seeing the results of an Epstein education and am looking forward to my other children benefiting in similar ways.

The Epstein School is one of the finest Jewish Day Schools in the country. Epstein s unique academic bilingual program, combined with integration of advanced technology and the arts gives Epstein students a competitive edge and is one of the key reasons Epstein graduates go on to be so successful in the very best high schools and colleges of their choosing. Young children who learn a second language develop stronger communication skills, and in a global economy that provides them with better economic and employment opportunities. Because the school is supported by an atmosphere that values a caring community and service to others, Epstein students thrive and develop their academic skills to their maximum potential. In 2010 Epstein alumni included: 1 Valedictorian, 4 Salutatorians, 6 National Merit Finalists, 3 Governor's Honors participants, President of Riverwood, both Co-Presidents of The Weber School and 62% of The Epstein School class of 2006 were members of the NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY and/or received NATIONAL MERIT RECOGNITION.

I am the father of a middle school girl and elementary school boy at Epstein. They have been there over the past six years. I have been very happy with the school. My wife and I read some studies indicating that a bilingual education developed children's brains so that they have the ability to learn more languages in the future. I believe this is true. My daughter is learning third and fourth languages now (Russian from a classmate and Spanish from an Spanish I course in 8th grade). The half day of Hebrew does not take away at all from the other subjects. Some parents feel the Shachar program to help kids who require more individual care doesn't do enough. My wife and I have been happy with the warm environment, strong Judaics education and the teachers challenging our children with extra projects. My kids like the school too!
