I am bit surprised that the ranking is a three. The current test scores would put this school at an eight.I transfered my daughter to this school which is outside of our zoned school because I heard so many great things.I must say they are exceeding my expectations. The principal is awesome.I work in education and this has got to be one of the best principals I have ever met.The teachers are awesome and they really push the kids to do their best.My 5 year old daughter got in the car the other day and was literally talking to me in spanish I was so amazed.I love, love, love this school.I say it is a true gem in the heart of Grant Park.I just which more parents would get involved it would put this school right up there with the school I work at which is second in the state.

I am the grandmother of Devaunte' Thomas and Tonya Cosby, 3rd grade and Kindergarten students at Parkside. I would just like to commend Dr. Phillip Luck (Principal) for his genuine concern and love for the students not only at Parkside, but due to his great personality, i am convinced that it extends to others. I have witnessed his caring countless times. During a recent tragic event with little Jaquavis Hannah, a resident of Trestletree apts, as predicted, Dr. Luck and Ms. Hall (counselor) were right there to check on the situation. I truly appreciate Dr. Luck for all that he does. He checks on the children in Trestletree Village apts. During the summer, he may stop by to play football with them and just say hi! Also, My Sincere appreciation to Mrs. Ulrich (3rd grade) for her great work and support in encouraging my grandson Devaunte'. She does a marvelous job. Thanks to all of the other staff for their outstanding work..THEY ARE THE GREATEST!!!!! Vernell Grooms

I have got to say I thought this school was decentl! I am now at Westminster and I could'nt be happier. This school was average. I remember that what was her name Ms Fowlkes she would just not let anybody talk in lunch. Then the teachers have bad grammar. I can say good though they were very nice. But there was a little verbal bullying

We moved our boys to this school after a very bad experience in a highly recommend and rated school also in Atlanta. I was very worried how the boys would find the move after starting this school year and after 3 weeks moving them to Parkside. Well I was very silly to worry as all the staff and the principal were so friendly, warm and reassuring that we had made the right move.... After 1 month at the school there was a huge change in the boys attitudes and they grade cards showed it even more....This was by far the best move for the boys and for us, as they both look forward to going to school and we look forward to going and volunteering.. At Parkside they really do care about your child and what and how they learn and grow.... I am looking forward to the next few years.... and Dr. Luck is by far the best principal my husband or I have ever meet....

Wonderful staff, principal, administration, and parental involvement. Parkside is definitely a hidden jewel in the Grant Park community! Dr. Luck is such a caring principal, totally devoted to the students and staff. The administration is wonderful! Exceptional counselor(Go Ms. Ball!) and everyone from the secretarial staff to the janitorial staff are always warm and friendly! My girls are excited to go to school each day and as a parent that warms my heart and makes me feel like there must be something going on great at this school! Keep up the Exceptional work, Parkside!

Our son is in his 2nd year at Parkside and we could not be happier. This is an excellent alternative to Charter in Grant Park. From Dr. Luck to Cub Scouts, the programs are first rate, teachers are very accessible and school pride is right up there with the best. Our son will have met his HS requirements for foreign language at the end of this school year, with the total immersion program, he sounds natural in Spanish. Grades are up, attention to his needs are consistent, just all around a great school. Parent
