Garden Hills is an International Baccalaureate school, which essentially means that it believes that beyond providing a quality education, the development of a balanced, compassionate, respectful student is equally important. Each morning on the announcements the children are reminded to do their best, be their best, and be a friend to their fellow students. The students and teachers are encouraged to turn in "I See IB" commendations to our administration that are read on school announcements. For example, "John Smith was being Compassionate when he helped a friend to the school nurse after the friend skinned his knee at recess." or "Sally Jones was being Principled when she turned in the money someone had dropped in the cafeteria." There are 10 IB Learner Profiles: Balanced, Caring, Communicator, Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Open-Minded, Principled, Reflective, Risk Taker, and Thinker.
