We've been a part of GCA for 4yrs. We like it because the curriculum is more challenging and broad. The children can work at their own pace and it fosters independent learning. The down side is that they are becoming more & more focused on test scores. However, that is coming down from the state.

My kids attended GCA for 4 years. They are both exceptionally intelligent and did well. GCA is 100% what you and your student put into it. My kids have returned to public school because my daughter needed AP course not offered there. My kids jumped right in with As at their new school so they were clearly prepared. Elemtary and middle are easy "A". Unless your student is special needs if you get less than an A you should assume your child would get an F in any other school. If you do the required work you get an A, if you do not you get less. Scores are not stressed, you just redo the work until you pass. And the fact is it is pretty easy to cheat. So parents have to be very active to check for cheating. Honestly I think the easy As helped my daughter she will accept nothing less now. But high school is TOO tough. I had a ton of kids coming to the co-op specificly because they were failing. The woman who said they give 16 hours of work is accurate but only 1/3 of that is manditory. She needed to take an active roll and help the student stay organized and only make them do the optional work if they are struggling with a subject. GCA has too many computer glitches

I am a parent and I did home school. This is public school. So if you are thinking of home schooling your child and the freedom that comes with that, LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. This school is mostly online only meaning (no books). My child needs glasses because of so many hours everyday in front of the computer. But what it bad is their work is spread out across many different websites. And the work load is crazy. I sat down one day and counted up how long it would take my child to do everything assigned and according to GCA numbers it should have take 13 hours, that was only one day of work. I understand this school is free but you get what you pay for.

I love this school. I have a daughter in the 4th grade who is very intelligent and they are providing all the testing to move her ahead and give her more challenging work. I also have a 1st grader who has an IEP for speech. He sees a speech therapist 3 times a week provided online and he absolutely lloves it. We defiantly plan on staying with the program.

This school is great. If you want an environment where the students are friendly, teenagers feel like they are in a public school but within their comfort at home, this school is for you. I attended GCA in 9th grade, and I definitely reccomend this school. The only thing that I didn't like is lack of orginization, BUT t hey are working on that. love this school and miss it dearly

I wanted a school that could provide a challenging educational curriculum, one that caters to my children (1st and 2nd grade) needs, one that was not going to hold them back; but help them to blossom. So far I am very pleased that I have found the school that is providing exactly what I need. Thank you GCA, you rock!!!

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
