My child and I have had a very negative experience at Montgomery this past year. I do believe there are some good teachers here and I have heard of some parents having a good experience, so my experience doesn't reflect the school as a whole, necessarily, but our particular experience has been very bad. I was very unhappy, as were many other parents in my child's class, with our teacher, but after numerous attempts at communication with her, as well as the principal, nothing was done to address my concerns. I repeatedly asked the principal to take action and nothing was ever done. The principal seemed like a nice person, but did not help me in the situation my child was in. My child has hated every day of school for the last year and he is not even 6 years old. I look forward to our last days at the school this week, because we are MOVING!!!!!!!!!!! There are many other negative things I could say, but want to be respectful of the purpose of this site/feedback, so I will refrain!

Montgomery is terrific. We have been going here for 3+ years and love it. The teachers and staff are wonderful. High parent involvement and the PTA is super. I recommend Montgomery.

I have four children in Montgomery and have found that grades K-4 are fantastic. Administration is solid and attentive, teachers are responsive, and the programs are flexible enough for all levels.

My husband and I moved to the neighborhood we're in specifically for the Montgomery/Chamblee/Chamblee schools. What a great decision! Our children are thriving and absolutely love school and their teachers! I could not be Jasper with the amination, support of parents, and attention to special needs/IEP issues as well. We love Montgomery!

I have 3 children at Mont. 2nd, 3rd grade and my oldest moving on to middle school. From year to year I have been impressed with the teachers instruction and the parent involvement is exceptional. We never once had a teacher I wish we hadn't. Dr. Silvers hires great teachers. One important fact is that Mont. does NOT teach for the test and our scores are always high. I have friends that need Tudors because their child was taught only for the test and not the curriculum. I can't imagine my children anywhere else.

My daughter has been at Montgomery since first grade. This is an okay school, but they are primarily concerned with CRCT scores and not the individual child. If your child fits the "mold" and does not require ANY extra help or attention, this is the school for you. The teachers and the principal have been quite resistant to helping my daughter with her focusing difficulties. Not to mention the amount of homework is astronomical and quite unnecessary in quantity. My child does not like school at all, thanks to Montgomery.

4/26/11 My daughter has attended Montgomery K-5, while my son has attended private schools. our decision was financial. I was shocked as to the quality of teachers at Montgomery ! The families are wonderful too. The Math surpassed my son's education.Although there are not always that perfect teacher, I have never been disappointed, and only once had a yr I would rather not repeat, but I didn't pay $14,000 either( and you could have been in private school with the same situation). Yes Dr Silvers may seem cold, but her heart is education and our children. She doesn't allow certain parents to dictate but she will listen....I couldn't have made a better choice for our daughter...great teachers, neighborhood friendships, involved parents, strong PTA....

My child has been at Montgomery since Pre-K. Year 1 - wonderful. Year 2 and 3, horrid. Year 4 - wonderful. I found that I had to teach the teachers how to effectively work with a focused challenged child. This appears to be a real weak point at Montgomery. Do your homework - you are your child's advocate. We are still at Montgomery because it takes a village to mold a child. Overall, the support system was there like it should be. Dr. Silvers isn't yielding but she is fair. You have a voice, use it.

My child has been there for 2 years and I have not been impressed with either of the teachers we've had. However, Dr. Silvers is a great principal and is very involved. The classes are way too big and only getting bigger. I think Montgomery is a good school if you have a child who doesn't need anything out of the ordinary and can thrive in a large class with little supervision. I am looking into transferring my child to another school with smaller classes that can offer more one-on-one attention. PTA is very involved, which is a plus.

My Grandaughter entered Montgomery in 2nd grade ...Her teacher Ms Karen Russel!...what a positive impact Ms Russel had on Trinity's life...now in 3rd grade Ms Stewart has continued what seems to me is 'teaching at it's best'....teachers like these is what sets Montgomery above the rest.
Montgomery Elementary is a wonder school. Teachers and staff are very friendly and warm hearted. The school itself is small but packed full of happy children. I know of five different children who have attended and they all LOVE their school!

My daughter is in 1st grade this year, and it's our second year at Montgomery. I have to say that I am absolutely impressed by the parent involvement in the school, the teachers, the level of excellent standard that the school upholds, and the overall great organization and attention this school gives to the students and parents. It's a wonderful school, I look forward to having my daughter there during her entire elementary school experience.

Excellent school. Better than $15K a year St. Martins and OLA. Wonder why St. Martins is losing students by the truckload? Its because parents figured out that it was a better school than the local private schools and its a heck of a lot cheaper!

Montgomery is an okay school. My son just finished Kindergarten and Ms. Perry was wonderful to work with. However, I must say that I was not pleased with the new principal, Dr. Silvers. She was very cold, extremely unfriendly and aloof as well as very unapproachable and I never got the sense that she truly cared about my son. It is mainly for this reason that I have decided to move to a different school district for the 2009 - 2010 school year.

Overall we are extremely happy with Montgomery. Its not quite as good as St Martins but I think now better than OLA (class size etc) and the 15k a year per child we are saving adds up...........

We committed to trying Montgomery and taking it a year at a time. But we love it. This school is a great fit for our family. The setting is sweet and intimate and children get a much more individualized education than I ever thought they would. My two children enrolled here are thriving, happy, and enthusiastic about learning.

I was hesitant to send my child to a public school, but, after speaking with many families in our neighborhood decided to make Montgomery the choice for my kindergartner son. Thank goodness I made that choice! Out of all the schools I looked at (including St Martins, OLA and other private schools) Montgomery has surpassed all expectations. There are so many good families that are a part of this school and the faculty and staff are truly amazing! I will advocate Montgomery any time to any one. This school is the best elementary school in metro Atlanta and anywhere else in the state as far as I am concerned!

Montgomery has truly been a blessing to our family. The faculty and staff are very caring and loving. Each child is given the opportunity to be successful and challenged. The teachers are very professional. The administative staff is always willing to listen to any concerns that a parent or child may have. Learning is fun at Montgomery. A very pleased parent.

I must commend the teachers and staff at this wonderful school. They are truly committed in the success of their students. The principal is wonderful. My son was struggling with reading and the staff went above and beyond to help him. The atmosphere is pleasant and outgoing. The staff is always willing to listen to your concerns and as a team willing to establish the best game plan to help your child be successful. They are wonderful. I don't believe there is any school in Atlanta that can compare. They help push your child to their FULL capabilities.
