My child was in the after school program which did not provide a disciplined, positive environment. The administrative and teaching staff was lacking in enthusiasm and drive. Parental involvement was less than desired due to the number of families who did not speak English. Would have loved to have met them, but language and cultural barriers prevented us. Not the right fit for my child.

This is a great school. Everyone looks at test scores and ours are going up, up, up. The scores on this website need to be updated. Check the DOE website. The teachers really care about the children, and it is a safe environment where children are learning all day. Come see for yourself.

My kids have done very well at HMES and have had very good teachers. The principal, Dr. Jackson, has been successful in leading the teachers and students to increase test scores. The PTA is very active and was successful in getting Kaboom! to install a new playground (thanks Ms.Kiesling).

Great school near Emory Univ and Mercer Univ. A lot of families are associated with Emory/CDC/VA/GT/GST and Downtown companies. Frequent winners in Math tournaments and chess games.

Last year was my son's first year at HME and it was wonderful. The teacher were nice and also the coach. My only concern was the fact that he did not have a lot of homework on a weekly basis. But,other than that the teachers were very wonderful. I hope the same for next year which will be his last year.

I love this school and the staff, all the way to the bus driver. My daughter is in a special hearing impaired class and has had nothing short of a wonderful expierence. We are proud to be HME Hawks parents!

some really good things are going on at this school. Likewise, they're stuck in a rut in other areas and could use an infusion of administrative/teacher enthusiasm.
