We have one child at North Hart, 5th grade. She's has attended since Kindergarden, and we could not be more pleased with her education. She loves going to school every day and is working on her 3rd year of perfect attendance. She is a straigh A student and is certainly thriving at North Hart. We will miss it next year!

Wonderful school! The teachers have a tremendous amount of love and compassion for the students and coworkers. This school was awarded the Platinum Award for Excellence. My wife is a teacher at this school and truly works hard to help her students and keep up the excellence. She has students calling just to talk or helping them with their homework. My wife still tutors older students to help them pass the exit exams at the high school level. I hire many of her former students in the summer to help with our business, because I know that these students have the best work ethic. I think that the other teachers that I have met are very much like my wife. When they are together you can hear how much they enjoy the students and their coworkers. Two small excellent schools merged to make an excellent large school.

I have lived in Hart County all my life and I totally agree with the Atlanta comments. The 5 Star post must be a teacher or relative. I have 2 children there, one a straight A student and the other just making it. We are heavily involved. You never know what your child's grade is until report card. Heaven help you if you have a child with a learning disabilty in this school. You walk on eggshells around the principal. Just check out North Hart's website to Hartwell Elementary's. The second does an excellent job with their site. We still have not been told when the CRCTs are this year. If you question a grade, you are labled a trouble maker and you are ignored. If you are from one of the local families who has a teacher there, your set. Very poor leadership.

I totally agree with the people who are from Atlanta. This school wants to 'feel good' about education but not really teach the child. If you child is already above the 'meet the average' test score, they feel they don't have to do anything else for the child. If you ask for help you are told 'Nobody else wants work for their child' and behind you back you are called an overachiever. I don't understand why writing is not emphazied more. Also, so what if our test scores are above average for Georgia, Georgia is either 49 or 50 in state ranking. There are some excellent teachers at North Hart, caring and very helpful. I just wish they could get the support from the district to do what they love to do.

Volunteering, I have tried. Several times, I have said, let me know what I can do. I get the standard, so and so are taking care of it, but thanks soooo much. The comment 'go back to atlanta' proves the mentality by most here, born and bred here or you don't belong here. I AM involved w/ my child's education, that's evident in her grades. Yes, there are PTO meetings. Those in charge are less then welcoming. Test scores, mediocre at best. The attention a child gets is based on, the church you attend, the car you drive and the delusional postion by some who think they're the pillars of the community. The children deserve a better education, in more then one way.

I am shocked about the review above! North Hart Elementary has PTO meetings, regular newsletters, and the doors have always been open to parents for conferences. Some of the most caring and best teachers and administrators I have ever seen are employed there. You obviously are not involved in your child's education by the incorrect information you have written. Maybe you need to go back to Atlanta if you don't like what we have here! North Hart is GREAT...just check out the test scores and spend some time there!
