My son is in the first grade and we love all the teachers and staff at wjps we feel so lucky that our son is able to attend such a great school.
All three of my children have attended this school and have loved it. The teachers have gone out of their way to give special attention to my children. Even the staff at the after school program have looked out for them. My youngest is in the pre-k program and learned phonics in the first month of school. She would come home singing songs that helped her learn phonics, numbers, and other things so quickly. The teachers know how children learn best and what motivates them as well. The principal is always visible to parents and students. She knows them all by name and is a role model for all.
Great first year in school for my son. He'll be going into 1st grade next year and is so excited! Our teachers have been amazing, so caring and encouraging.
Our daughter will be going into the 2nd grade this coming August and she has been at WJPS since Pre-k and we love it. We have had awesome teachers every year. We are looking forward to having our son start Pre-k this August!
My daughter is in Mrs Venable's class and is doing great in her reading and math skills. I am proud to say she attends WJPS!!!!
Iam helping raise my grandchild. She is in MrsHurleys class. Im very impressed by the amount of concern for the kids,in terms of learning. She and Mrs Youngblood go up and above the call of duty to see that these kids get what they need and more. I cant believe what our grandchild has learned in this year.Im impressed by the positive attitude of the whole school.
Great school with great leadership and really focusing on the positive that the children do. It is so refreshing to see the positive emphasized so much and not the negative of what they do wrong.
Not impressed, the school staff is completely unorganized.
I was a little apprehensive since this was my son's first year out of private day care. However, his Kindergarten experience at WJPS has been great. He has a wonderful teacher in Mrs Johnston, and the staff has been very responsive and supportive overall. As a parent I am very pleased with the academic programs offered for his age group. He is doing very well, and is developing a great love of reading and other subjects because of the basics being taught there.
It just doesn't get any better than West Jackson Primary. The entire staff cares about every single child.
