I am looking forward to my Grandson going here to start his education and learn great things. I told him this past week that by December when I see him again I bet he would be able to read me a story! he will be starting kindergarten this month~!
My son loves this school the staff are wonderful and they understand children and work with them alot better than some other walker county schools my son had attended
My son was at Cherokee Ridge for K last year and I was not very impressed. The teachers are extremely picky and the principle does not care. When the teachers nor the principle do nothing about bullying there is a VERY big problem. If I had a choice my son would not go to Cherokee Ridge again this year.
i have had 3 kids 2 finish pre-k through 5th @ cherokee ridge,as of rite nw my 4th child goes 2 cherokee ridge he also has been through the pre-k program,he is nw finishing up the 5trh grade,I will miss-the great teaching that the school has gave 2 all of my children...Thank you.....from the Oliver hildren, and Family
I have two children that attend Cherokee Ridge. It is a wonderful school, it is impressive to me that the staff knows each child by name, all 900+ children. Ms. Vann is wonderful with the children and is a truely caring principal. The entire staff works to ensure each child has a chance for a bright future. Keep up the good work students & facility of Cherokee Ridge.
Our school rocks because we have THE perfect administrative team! Our teachers are awesome and know how to get kids motivated. Test scores are steadily increasing year after year. Our parent volunteers and community support are just the icing on the cake. We are a family of achievers!
I could not have asked for my son to go to a better school. It is nice to know that you can take your children to school and know that they are going to have a great day, thanks to the staff. I would recommend Cherokee Ridge to everyone.
Cherokee Ridge is the best elementary school in Walker County. I am a little disappointed by the low great schools rating, but I know why it is a little lower than the others. You see Cherokee Ridge has more students with special needs than any other school in the county. The No Child Left Behind standards create problems because developmentally disabled students are expected to complete the same tests as the ones who are not disabled. This creates a situation to where on paper their scores seem to be lower than average. Does anyone actually believe that a severly handicapped child should be required to take the same standardized test as those who are not? I have two children in this school and have the upmost confidence and respect for the faculty and staff, by which create a very effective learning environment. Perhaps the GreatSchool's ratings should take more in consideration.
I give this school 5 stars and above- it is a great school where teachers care about the students
My son is in Kindergarten at Cherokee Ridge. I could not be happier. When I walk through the doors of the school I feel so welcome. The principal, teachers, and staff are friendly and caring. My son's teacher is the best. His teacher made a point to attend my son's basketball game on a Saturday morning. My son is learning so much. I have been very impressed with the school's Advanced Reading Program. This is an excellent school.
I have 2 children in CRES and one more will be attending this next school year. I personally have had a wonderful experience with this school. The staff is excellent and parent involvement is great. There is never a time when I have not felt that I am actually involved in the school. Another important plus is I feel that my children are safe here. I personally have had an experience were I sent a grandparent to get my son and she was asked to show her I.D. That really made me feel good. Keep up the good work.
My daughter has been at Cherokee Ridge for 3 years now and I am very pleased. The principal and teachers strive to know all 900 some odd students by name. My daughter has excelled since see has been at Cherokee Ridge. She is a straight A student and can not wait to get to school to see what she will be learning for the day. Take it from an overprotective mom.. they don't get any better.
My daughter has been there since pre-k and everything we have experienced with the school has been positive. I would recomend this school anytime!
I have had three of my children in this school. overall it seems to be a good school, unless you have a special needs child. I know of several parents who have special needs children who have had alot of problems, including myself. Because of major problems we have had concerning our child, we are moving to an area that has better schools for our children. Maybe with the new principal this year, things will begin to get better for the students.
I had one child graduate from this school already and 1 more still there. I think the school and the faculty do a wonderful job making sure the children are well educated and taken care of.
I have had two children graduate from this school, and two more still there. I love it! the staff is wonderful! my only complaint is it is too big! that is not the fault of the teachers, they do everything they can for my kids! they want what is best for the children and the school!
I can understand why a reviewer who can barely read would want to take a child out of school. VARIOUS not farious! Among the other grammer issues.
We just wanted my brother out of this class and he just straight up said, 'NO!'. We changed his school. We also know a few other parents that also took their children out of this school for farious reasons.I would not recommend this school to anyone.
