I have been a teacher at Marshall for 2 years. It has been the hardest job I have ever had. It has become harder since the arrival of Dr. Forte, the Principal. He is trying to get Marshall changed to a magnet school. This is commendable, however, he has intimidated and bullied the teachers at Marshall since day one. There have been 12 teachers from a staff of 24 who have requested a transfer this year. He has not even come close to supporting teachers in the classroom this year and behavior is out of control. If he thinks that just by turning Marshall into a magnet school will solve all the problems at Marshall, then he should guess again. You still have to support your teachers. They are the backbone of any school. The supporting rhetoric is there, but unfortunately it turns out to be rhetoric only.
Marshall is doing just fine. All that saying negative things, about them you need prayer. Remember this school is one of columbus oldest black school. These other schools does'nt do no more than Marshall.
This year alone has been a trying year for the new principals and teachers at Marshall. But, I can say as a parent of an 8th and 6th grader, it is hard, but they cares.
The school is great. The school is okay and the teachers really do care about the kids and want them to learn stuff.
This school would be great if the school would get more control of the students and better teachers who teach.
Marshall Middle School is a good school, the teachers work well with the kids, the also have a great principle Dr. Skeet, whom I find to be a very concern principle about his school and students. I also found that the bully is being handle at a great deal at first hand! Thank you!Marshall Middle School for three great years!
Marshall Middle School is a great athletic system for students. The teachers are interactive. The band is a great. I enjoyed the safety and discipline rules that Vanessa Biggers provided the students with. She gave all of them a chance to show their talent. There are a lot of supporting adults at the school. But some of the violence at the school needs to be lowered, such as bullying.
