We have a child in the Elementary school, and we have been having major problems with our child's grades this year. They have one good teacher per grade, and if your child does not get this one teacher, then get ready to spend out some money on extra education outside of this school... My child's teacher tried to explain something to me, and I could not understand her. How can I expect my child to understand her? We have been thinking about changing schools, because we are paying someone on the side to teach our child what she should be learning at school from her teacher. If you are a teacher, then this school will be for great your child, because you will have to be the one to teach them what they learn.

I do not think Commerce elementary school is all it could be.I am a single parent with a very active kid. This school waits for up to two weeks to tell me he has been in trouble,I need to know as soon as possible so I can deal with it.Not two weeks later. This will make the second year I have asked them to keep my kid seperated from another little boy,the bus driver continues to seat them together. It is like they are working against me.I can deal with him fine at home.If the school has a problem with my son, should they not set up some test and see what is going on,or do they push the kids with problems out of the way?

I feel that Commerce Elem. is a great school. My son has some learning problems and they have helped him so much. I cna tell that they really care about him and the other students. It shows in the kids faces and their behavior. I am so thankful that when we moved here to Commerce 3 years ago that we have our son at this school.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Georgia administered the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) in reading, social studies, science, English language arts and math in grades 3 through 8. The CRCT is a standards-based assessment, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Georgia. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
