The ninth grade has a couple of weak links in the academy. There seems to be no accountability or dedication with certain teachers. As a former Davis Middle School parent, I can truly say it has been a disappointing Freshman year for my child at Heritage.
Heritage school is not what i expectied it to be on my fiirst day i wanted to fight the kids. there are kids who act so fast and mess up the kids who want to learn i would never tell any of my friends who want to learn and go to colllage to go there. The teaches did not stop them from cursing and flirtin when they should if ben tryin to stop them cause they will keep doing that for the rest of the year
Heritage High is an amazing school and has a wonderful faculty and staff> we would also like to say Go generals!!!!
Heritage high school Is a great school. It has the best drama and theater classes.
I'm a student at Heritage High School. With what I've noticed I think teachers are attempting to keep us interested, but the teaching methods just are not working. I'm in advanced classes, and these classes are full. We do not even have enough math books for our class. I thought advanced was something that was earned, these students in my class? They don't know what to answer. Especially in math. We spend so much more time going over things we already learned when, We should've learnt it awhile ago! This school is good, but I wish it would step up more. Don't put kids in advanced unless they earn it!
We moved our family to Rockdale County because of a particular school cluster - Honey Creek Elementary/Edwards Middle and Heritage High School. Both of our girls have graduated the last in May of 2008. Having spent eight years, two superintendants and seen two very different children through this High School, I believe gives me a very well rounded opnion. Heritage has an excellent academic program, however, sometimes you must stand your ground when placing your child in advanced or A/P courses. The extracurricular activities are not only fun but educational and outstanding! I have not been to Europe but my child has! Athletics are not the main focus for this school so coaching is not top notch. However, the arts department is top of the line with theatrical productions to rival broadway. Keep your eye on Iparent and the Principle and your child will graduate with scholarships and well rounded!
The only good thing that Heritage has to offer is that they have a superb theater program.
Heritage High School is a very good school. Most teachers are very committed and set high standards. Extracurricular activities are are outstnding. Many quality coaches and fine arts personnel. Cleanliness of the school also speaks highly of the staff and students.
Heritage is a good school, but there is room for improvement. Parents should be more committed to making sure kids abide by dress codes and come prepared to be in an atmosphere of learning. I believe most administrators and teachers are committed to having a school of excellence. I believe the new superintendent is committed to excellence and a quality education for all.
There are too many teachers here that should have retired ages ago. There is a certain ego among much of the staff that is disturbing, like they're above mundane tasks like returning emails or getting grades in on time. The extracurricular activities are excellent, and many opportunities are offered to meet many different interests. The band is particularly outstanding! Academically, I would say the school is probably better than most, although there is a lot of room for improvement.
