I am a parent of a child that attends SWE. I find that MOST of the teachers are AWESOME...however, the administration is HORRIBLE!!! The principal, Suzie Giannoni, is a very rude and uncaring person! I will be sooo happy when my child is gone from this school so I do not have to deal with her about ANYTHING! She needs to get off her high horse and learn how to be caring toward the kids, parents, & teachers! I hear nothing but complaints about her from HER OWN FACULTY!!! I find it very disturbing that her own faculty does not like her! Same goes for Goodin and Magahee!!! They are both stuck up Giannoni's tail and do not care about their staff or students!!!

I have a child that attends Southwestern Elementary. I feel the school is a well ran school with a staff filled with teachers who believe in their students. Southwestern was recently recognized by the State of Georgia with a 'Silver Award' for Highest Gains on the CRCT. Keep up the good work Southwestern.

Not only am I a parent of a child who attends Southwestern Elementary, I am also a teacher within the school. To hear a parent complain about the students being 'uncontrollable' is appalling to me being that discipline should begin at home. Yes, some teachers 'control' students better than others but parents must also learn to step up and do their job and teach their children how to behave appropriately now matter where they may be. The educational system would be much better in all parts of the world if ALL parents would take the time to help their child's school and teachers by working together as a team. However, this is not the case. Unfortunately, teachers and other school officials have become the ones that end of having to teach the majority of today's children about values, morals, and obedience. We can't do it all! We need parental support also!

My son goes to Southwestern Elementary School. I think that it can do better with discipline in the school. The students are very unruly. The teachers doesn't seem to care that the students are also rude to the parents as well as the teachers. The receptionist in the front office does not do her job properly. When you go into the office, she acts as though she doesn't want to help you. She takes her time when she does help you. I will be glad when my son is done with this school. If I had a choice, my son would go to another school but we don't have many choices here.
