J. S. Pate Elementary School

I have more problems at J.S Pate than any other school in the State of Georgia. (???) The teaching is great; don t get me wrong. The students are in a structured, disciplined environment during the entire day. I was told that parents and non-school staff are not allowed to roam free during the school day. Students are kept in a common area in the morning because the administration does not want students in a classroom without adult supervision. Children belonging to teachers are allowed some leeway in this order but these children answer to their parents in an altogether different manner than other students. I need to discuss with my child s teacher the reason for my concern about their safety in the hallway.

The school staff and teachers are great. I love the parent workshops. My son is a first grade student at J.S. Pate.

i wouldn't even rate this school 1 star because i have more problem with this school then any other school in the state. the teaching is great don't get me wrong but the way they treat the students is as if there in a army the children are drilled daily between the time they enter the front door untill the bell rings i was even told that i couldn't no longer bring my child into the school library in the mornings or down the hall way untill the bell rings witch i have been doing all year there are many other students that remain in the school or even go to there classes because they are children of the teachers and other employers of the school but if one child can do then why cant mine i have a great reason for why i walk my child from point A to point B .

Two of my children went through JS Pate Eementary. The school is well run with caring and excellent teachers and involved parents. The academic programs were very challenging.
