My child started his first year of school this year. It has been a terribly stressful experience with lots of crying and not wanting to go to school. At first I thought this was normal starting school behavior but then I spoke with my pediatrician. She told me that she has had several patients who attended the school and experienced unusually high stress levels. There are many rules that students, even the youngest, must follow. Children who are conscientious and want to please become worried that they won't do the right thing. We will be pulling our child out. What a terrible start to a school career.

My son has been attending this school for 5 years now and is finishing his sixth. Montessori isn't suited to every child but for mine it is perfect. He excels in some areas and struggles in others but as he is allowed to move forward with what he excels in he doesn't get disheartened and keeps moving forward. He gets extra help with the areas he struggles in and is still staying at grade level in those subjects. The staff are all friendly and thanks to good teacher/student ratios very aware of each child and their daily work. The school encourages parent participation and that can be seen any day that one visits. I plan to have my child attend this school all the way through middle school and would recommend any prospective parents to come visit and see for yourselves how wonderful it is.

Really great school. We have now moved to another state, but absolutely loved it when we were there. Sadly, you wont find this caliber school anywhere else.

We searched Atlanta and the surrounding area when we happened upon this school. When we toured, my husband was not convinced, but I knew this was the place for our kids. He has since said that it was the best decision we ever made for their education. They were at a high-rated and very well-known private school and doing great, but were not being challenged. I realized that the standards at this school are a lot higher and the curriculum is a lot more advanced, so I was worried that they might fall behind or feel left out as other students (who had already been at this school) were so much ahead of where they were academically. Much to my happiness, I was proven wrong. They are loving school so much more now, even excited about learning (they always used to talk about their friends, not ever mentioning what they were learning). They have caught up and exceeded my expectations as far as what they are learning and I credit the incredible teachers for this. They take time for individual kids. My kids are learning things that they wouldn't for years at other schools... and loving it! What more could a mom ask for?!?!?!

This school, in my opinion, was a disappointment. My child attended this school for 3 years and he struggled. We moved him to a larger public school were he has been excelling and enjoys going to school everyday.

Fantastic school! Very advanced academically and obviously concerned about each individual child. Offers opportunities other schools do not. Teachers and staff have a lot of experience and are always receptive to questions or concerns. Wouldn't even consider another school for my child.

Yes, obviously some families have chosen to leave the school... my family is one of those families, but I do no appreciate being spoken for in regards to the reason (I noticed a previous post that assumes many families have left due to being dissatisfied). My family had to leave because of a transportation situation and now my children are riding the bus to school. We were very upset at having to leave this excellent school, but saw no other option since both my husband and I work long hours and cannot pick our children up. We would love to be able to return to the school. Another family we are friends with had to also leave the school this past year due to financial difficulties arising, as many can understand with the economy. We are still searching for a way to return to the school, as it is clear that our children are bored with their classes now because they are so far ahead of their peers. Finding a school like this, for us, was definitely like finding a needle in a haystack.

We have had nothing but positive experiences with this school. The academic curriculum far surpasses what is being taught at other schools. The teachers and staff can be easily contacted and volunteering in the classroom is highly encouraged, which has been a great way to see how my child interacts in the classroom. Montessori is an entirely different experience than traditional schooling and time should be taken to learn about these differences and the benefits that Montessori offers. Even knowing this, some Montessori schools are superior to others and this is the best! We researched schools for a LONG time before starting at this school. We have been very happy with this school and encouraged to see so much progress in our child over the years.

I live in the neighborhood and my two daughters attended there for 6 years where they received EXCELLENT instruction from caring teachers in an environment that has given them life skills that they have taken on to the next stage of their education. Our daughters decided that they were ready to move on to a bigger and more traditional classroom. You see, that is one of the beautiful things MSC taught my children, to think on their own and make good solid choices. They have moved into a much larger private school and have excelled and adjusted beautifully. I hope to send my son there when he is of age. I can not tell you what a wonderful decision we made in sending our girls to the Montessori School of Covington.

Please come out of denial! There have been MULTIPLE solid families leave this school...not just 1. I was a parent and chose to remove my kids. The school is heading towards being an academic sinkhole. For the sake of the children that are still there...address the issues...there is 1 in particular. This COULD be a great school again. Key teachers have left the school b/c of the environment of intimidation if you raise a concern and have a question that goes beyond general information.
