This school is not a school for children that that face any challenges academically. The principle runs the school the way he wants and not based on the needs of the students and the teachers. There is a high turn over of staff and students. I would not recommend this school for any reason,
My son has attended Woodlee's for 2 yrs. He is going to the 6th grade and will be attending a public middle school. I think Woodlee's is a great school with awesome Christian teachers. They truly care about the students. I do agree that it would be nice for them to have a gym. The only way to do that would be to raise tuition and I don't think they would want to do that. My son would still attend if not for financial reasons. Mr Fleck was an awesome principle and will be missed. Mrs. Faglier and Ms. Menefee are wonderful teachers.
Woodlee's Christian Academy is an incredible school to teach at. I have been a teacher at Woodlee's for four years now. The administrative support is excellent, and the environment of the school is similar to that of a large family. The school really stands for strong Christian values and character. I absolutely recommend this school to anyone searching for a Christ-centered school. It is a delight to work at this school.
I read some of the negative reviews and I fully disagree. Woodlees is a great school. I have grandchildren attending there and couldn't be more pleased. My daughter teaches in public school in another state and I have many friends who are public school teachers. Woodlee's is a breath of fresh air for parents who seek a school that puts the students education and personal development first. I am a very involved grandparent who has observed my other grandchildren, living in other states, their parents wish they could find a school like Woodlee's near them. Woodlee's offers sports, music and other electives designed for teaching and character development, and not simply entertainment. Don't just take my word for it. Tour the school. You will be impressed. A proud grandparent.
Woodlee's teachers and staff have created a very special place for my grandchildren to receive an exceptional education experience in today's world. Great loving, caring and astute teachers supported by friendly, competent and efficient staff is almost like going back in time. Even though Computers and technology make it current, prayer, music and sports remind me of my bygone days at school, when everyone knew everyone else. Add to all of that, great parental support & teamwork, counseling, encouragement for each student to be the best at who they are, by tapping into and developing their unique gifts and traits makes this school a dream come true. A very happy grandparent of Woodlee's students.
My son has attended Woodlee's for 3 years. This has been a great school. They care about each & every child that attends the school. Even though they do not have a gymnasium yet they so a great job offering competive sports & PE. I could not think of sending my child anywhere else.
It is a real shame that I can not give this school less than a whole star. When the administrations own family can not pass the graduation exit exam from public school after being taught at Woodlee's.... well that tells me enough to know that I should not trust my children to learn there. The school lost two wonderful teachers over the last school year because even the staff is tired of putting up the the administrations inability to change, adapt, and listen to what needs to be done to improve the school's ability to educate the children. This school had wonderful potential and a beautiful school building. However, could have and should have do not help our children when it is time to make it in the real world. Leave your child in public school if this is the only choice you have for private education!
My daughter has atttended this school for three years and it has totally been a waste of money and a huge disappointment. There is a large turnover rate amongst the entire staff. Most teachers aren't degreed. The teachers that are degreed are teaching courses that are not in their field to teach. This school welcomes special need children even though they are not equipped or trained to do so! This school has no gym and does not promote P.E. My child stayed indoors for 97% of the school year! Electives are not always offered during the week. This school had so much potential! If things don't change; this school's doors are going to close for good!
I have a child that attended Woodlees for 5 years. I have rated as average because basically that is what education your child will receive. No college prep or advanced classes.Unfortunately, the tuition keeps rising but not the quality. Most of the teachers are good, but morale is very low because the school lacks good leadership. The school has no gym or a proper size cafeteria. Its unfortunate because if the administration would actually listen to parents the school would not loose so many students every year. Enrollment in upper grades is way down because the school is operated like a daycare.
Woodlee's is a wonderful, loving Christian School. I am very blessed to be able to have my child attend here. This is the first school he has attended that I have felt in my heart that the School's Administration cared for my child's education as much as I do. With open arms and hearts, they invited us in and have been very supportive in what is best for my child. My child experienced life changing moments throughout this past school year. To name a few, he met the Governor during their Praise Band Concert, played Basketball with some of the Harlem Globe Trotters, and attended a Christian Conference that helped him grow a stronger relationship with God. He was part of the school's Year Book Committee, Basketball Team and Track Team. Both teams did very well this season, bringing home trophies. He has built ever-lasting friendships in both students and staff.
