While the teacher's at Shelton have been nothing short of fabulous, the principal is one of the most disrespectful, unkind, uncompassionate human beings on the planet. Unless you are a teacher's child or a child of someone heavily involved in the PTA she doesn't even care to hear any of your concerns. Nothing that parent's say or suggest seems to be of any importance to her. She claims to know what is best for your child yet she doesn't know who your child is. This school could be a "great" school if the principal was replaced with someone kind, compassionate and nurturing to children rather than some sort of dictator on a power trip. It's shameful and sad for the children of this school

3 of my kids have attended Shelton and theres been ups and down I have to admit. But all in all, Shelton has been a very community oriented school that my kids will miss!

Our family loves Shelton Elementary. We specifically moved to the area for this particular school. My son has had great success with his teachers. He loves to go to school and learn because the teachers make it fun yet challenging! The bus comes and picks him up each and every morning at 6:50 a.m. in front of the same stop sign in our Bentwater neighborhood. His bus driver is very friendly. He is dropped off at the same place at the same time every afternoon. I made sure to be an active participant in his education and have taken the time to get to know the Shelton principal, office staff, librarian and teachers through volunteering and all of Shelton's wonderful yearly activities that were mentioned in the previous review. I have had no problems with communication from the school.

I think Shelton is a great school. This is our 5th year at Shelton. Our bus picks my kids up right in front of my home and drops them off in front of my home. If you are involved in the school, you would see the community spirit that Shelton offers. Not only do they challenge the children academically, but they offer many activities throughout the year to become more involved in the school - book fairs, Fall Festival, Art Fair, Fun Run, Polar Express, just to name a few. I have had 4 of my children at the school and could not be happier.

We have recently moved from Cobb to Seven Hills in Paulding to our regret. The bus system has no predefined stops or stopping times. Communication from the school is poor the electronic board outside has not being updated since December 2009. I am now considering selling my home and move back to cobb

To correct the prior review, the school still is overcrowded and they still use portable units as well as a huge portable unit in the rear of the school. Another new elementary is needed in order to correct this problem issue.

My family and I believe that shelton is a great school! The principle is great she listened to our needs and what we wanted for our sons education and complied. His present teacher is doing a great job as well and really cares for the students learning growth. I'f you present your case right to the staff you will get the right action. NISA

When we moved to this area, we thought due to the growth, the schools had to be good. NOT TRUE. Do not let Shelton's test scores fool you. The teachers are good but the principal does not serve the parents at all. She is impossible to get in touch with, willl not return calls, and does not follow up as she says she will. I was shocked at the unresponsiveness from her. I have never experienced anything like it. Paulding County is still very backwards, and with the growth rate, all focus is on building schools. The bar is set extremely low; little homework; little if any technology in the schools; no teaching goes on in the entire spring other than CRCT practice, hence, the higher test scores.

My husband and I moved here last year and due to the housing market, we settled on Shelton and Paulding county. I am now regretting this. We are outsiders and we are treated as outsiders. I have no doubt that one day this will be a good school, but the county had to re-evaluate the school progress. The area has / is growing to fast and the school system has shown no interest in keeping up with times. Some of the teachers are great, but great teachers can't make up for what it is.
