I'm not surprised at all that this school is finally closing. I pulled my child out last year after the principal was run off and there were no plans to hire a new one. That had disaster written all over it, and I now see I was right. The failure of the school has nothing to do with economy. Plenty of parents, including me, now send their children to Archdiocesan Catholic schools much farther away and with tuitions only slightly higher than St. Rose. The reason for the failure is the school is made up of a bunch of 'administrators' who do not have a clue how to run a school. There were a few good teachers and thankfully, my child was taught by them.

Leaving this school after finding that they are turning it into a home school place or at least trying to. I have this advice: Look somewhere else.

The school is closing.... I'd say it's already fallen apart. It was hit by more than bad economy. Lack of leadership and irresponsible teachers have plagued the school since it's beginning. Principals have walked out more than once due to unreasonable requests of the founder. It was a playground for an irresponsible party with a little bit of money. I pulled my children out early on and haven't regretted the decision once. Glad to see the charade is over and I'm sure the Archdiocese is glad as well.

The school has excellent teachers and a good core of committed parents. IT IS NOT FALLING APART - untrue and cowardly malicious comment. The only ones falling apart are the parents who do not cooperate or find fault in everything that is done, and don't have the courage or virtues to contribute anything positive. Certainly not the type to "get going when the going gets though. So it IS BEST they get gone." St. Rose has achieved MORE than any school in academic achievement and environment. The school has been hit by bad economy like any other organization. And the need for organization is being addressed. There has been nothing but support and the parents have been re-energized, except for the one or two parents that have nothing better to do with their time, than good causes, contribute nothing and leave malicious destructive comments. This school is falling apart. There is no principal and the school is run by a few teachers ( and their buddies) who have kids going to St. Rose. The school is not accredited. This was a good school once but everyone is pretty negative now. Last year I gave teacher quality a 5 star rating, but the good ones are leaving I hear because of bad pay and the lack of leadership.

Looking forward to another year at Saint Rose Academy. The best part of the day is that prayer is part of every grade and every class. The attend Mass weekly and learn the true presence of Christ in their daily lives.

Great math program! Excellent upper grade teachers. Small supportive enviroment for learning. A bit weak in the "specials" area but great core curriculum.

My son goes to this school and he doesn't want to go any where else. He is doing great and getting great test results. He also likes everyone that goes there.

This school has been in operation only four years and her students are already excelling well above average on test scores for the community. The teachers are credentialed, dedicated and loving. The stellar academic program will truly prepare your child for any high school she or he wishes to attend. Wonderful, nuturing environment as well.

My grandson goes to St. Rose Academy. Their approach to education is excellent.

St. Rose Academy gives a good Christian/Catholic educational choice for families in the Douglas county area. My son is attending his third year here and has made huge strides in what he has learned. St. Rose's education standards are second to none and affordably priced for the small class sizes and academic scope. I highly recommend parents to do a tour and see what St. Rose Academy is all about!

We have been enrolled at this school for 3 years now and cannot think of a negative aspect of this school. I believe that the direction that they are taking is one that the public schools do not address. In Kindergarten the children get exposed to more than what I belive they woudl in a public setting. The classroom sizes allow the teachers to have that one on one relationship with their students that can be lost with a large class. We will continue to have our children enrolled in this school.

Prepared for High school! I have been involved in this school since the very beginning stages of planning and my children have been receiving an excellent education in the most Catholic environment that our family has experienced in 15 years. We have attended other Atlanta Catholic schools and this one is genuine. I have watched the teachers adapt a Catholic curriculum and add academic rigor. The skills taught encourage students to learn in many different ways with an emphasis on learning how to learn rather than simply learning the material for the "test". The teachers are creative, responsive to parents and very knowledgable in their various areas. I am pleased to have had one of the first graduates from SRA and he feels he is not as challenged in high school as he was while at SRA. He is taking AP courses and doing very well. Worth checking out!

This school is an absolute gem. The environment is wholesome, safe, disciplined and very family friendly. No new-fangled educational theories, just a really solid emphasis on core skills. The teachers are remarkable from top to bottom and very responsive to the needs of kids and parents.

This school does not address the current day needs of students transitioning to middle or high school. The elementary school age program is great at getting students to read. They utilize a home school curriculum that is heavy on the 'lost art of diagramming sentences' and cursive handwriting. The instructors are relatively new to teaching in a classroom environment. There are no facilities for physical education. Whether or not enrichment activities are a part of the curriculum (p.e., art, music) are dependent upon volunteers. Yes, the tuition is extremely reasonable...but what is the trade off?

My daughter just completed her first year (Kindergarten) at this school. My wife and I could not be happier with the teachers and the administration. They teach to the students and ask that parents be active in the process. They did not push us away even when I thought we were being too involved. They let us now how she was doing and if she was acting out they handled it then and there. We all so did the same at home. The tuition is affordable and they ask that each set of parents volunteer 50 hours per school year. They are fantastic.
