Douglas County High School

Iv'e spent my last 3 years of high school at Douglas County and I can certainly say this school has came a long way due to our wonderful loving principal Tim Scott. However although we have came a long way there are still issues at hand ! I love being a senior here because honestly there is greater school in the county than DC !!!

I am thorughly impressed with the leadership at this school. We were apprehensive in sending our son here after moving from another state, but the personal involvement and approach that the principal has leaves parents with a sense of relief and pride. The great schools rating was 3 out of 10 in June 2012, and went to 6 out of 10 which demonstrates and says a lot about hard this school has improved. I personally think that parents need to give a school a chance before making assumptions like we almost did. Our son loves it so far and I hope it continues to stay this way. Great job for turning this school around, teachers, staff, students and leadership. Definitely takes a village to raise a child and this concept is working beautifully!

I had a great experience at Douglas County. The teachers were excellent and helped me to get to where i am today. I am now in my second year at the University Of Georgia and can say that I would not be where I am today if it were not for DC. Go Tigers!

this school is very great. i learn so much from this school. at first i was so scared to be in high school but now i love it. But the greast teacher here is Erin Mellisa Jordan.

I love the way the staff supports the students and parents to encourage thos students that are truly applying themselves. The staff make you feel welcomed when you enter the building and they do all that they can to help you and your child to succeed in high school.

I love dchs, i think its a really good school. Y husband [coahc hurst] and myself [mrs. Hurst] have a great time teaching the students and everyday we have fun with the kids and they have a great time with us right back. Me myself personally enjoys waking up every morning just to come and see my babies. Likewise with my husband.

Douglas County is a great school. The school has many different extracurricular activities to chose from. The administration is good and the teachers are excellent. The school is great at communicating with parents. It definately is the best school in the county.

I find Douglas County to be a poor excuse for a high school. We relocated here from upstate NY. My daughter is a senior this year and she has to fight to get everything she needs to prepare for college next year. I have had to make several phone calls to back up her diligence. I have a 13yr old son, I have no intention of sending him to this school next year. Compared to the schools we came from in NY, Douglas County High is a joke.

My son has been so happy at DC. He has had an opportunity to get an excellent education, and he has also enjoyed participating in a number of extra-curricular activities. The band is awesome!

Douglas County is an excellent school. Even though some say that Douglas County is not overall good at its academics but if you get into the right classes, it is a experince you've never had before. Also, there are the activities; there's so much to do and my only regret would be that I never participated in any of them. This school has given me something to feel happy about, at any time I can look back and I'll always remember the crazy, fun times I had. At this time in my life, I feel as if I don't want to let go- I don't want to move.

Douglas County High School is an excellent school. It has improved rapidly over the years. The school offers tons of activities, sports, and clubs. The teachers there are great and the pricipal and assistant pricipals are awesome. All the students take pride in the school and have the most school spirit i have ever seen. Even though the school is old they are doing a great job renevating and fixing it up. My childs high school experience couldnt of been any better than it was at dc. DC is an awesome school

I currently attend DC. It is a great school. its not as bad as eveyone thinks it is. i think people that say stuff about DC are haters. The teachers are good, and i love it. people should not be scared to send their kids here. it is a perfectly fine school.

This is a great school. I am a former student and I absolutely loved it there. I received a great education from this school and I am now in my second year at Georgia State University and doing quite well might I add. If the students need help, the teachers are more than willing to give it to them. They only want to see us succeed in life and they are doing a great job at providing us the quality education that we need to succeed. Also the career center is a great place for the students to visit and the staff in there couldn't be more helpful. She does everything possible to get us where we need to be. I enjoyed all four of my years there and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Let's go Tigers!!! DCHS is the best high school in Douglas County hands down.

Douglas county High School is horrible. When I moved down here and my two children attended DCHS from day one there was nothing but complaints about the school. Everyone from the teachers to the administrators are rude and do not deserve to be teachers. I just hope that the schol start to make changes. The academic curriculum is bad. The students are not learning anything in that school.
