This is a wonderful school. My daughter joined this school last year . She was with Ms Gibson ,who has really made a place in the heart of my daughter. She has been a great teacher, she really works on making the foundation strong. I love this school.
This is our first year here and my kindergardener loves her teacher and the school.
Mason elementary school must be very proud of the best principal with excellent leadership and the best teachers. I sincerely appreciate what they are doing for everybody.
I absolutely love this school. This is my son's second year there, and he loves it. He has had 2 more than amazing teachers. The communication with the school and teachers are great. I love all the school functions the PTA organizes.
A great school is all i have to say. :) i was a student there but i was relocated to Parsons which I think is the best school ever. mason is only second to Parsons because when i was there i hardly got taught writing! Sure and Parsons won highest achieving public school award too! Parsons is much more fun but its hard to get a friend there if you act mean.PS. gwinnett county placed first in the whole country! Anyways Mason was great and i enjoyed it and the people and teachers are very cooperative and i think you will enjoy it!
2 THUMBS DOWN for M.H. Mason Elementary. We've encountered ONE good teacher at this school & the rest seem to all fit this description: rude, uncaring, abrasive, uneducated. There has one problem after another with this school. We've complained repeatedly about teacher behavior (yelling, rolling eyes, excessive make-up work) and we've come to the conclusion that the principal(s) are inadequate. This is a wealthy area, but the school does NOT reflect that. The walls are bare, the school has a cold, institutional feel to it, no school pride from the students or teachers. We are FED UP with this school and it's horrible attitude. My son has gone from loving school to dreading it and begging to be homeschooled. This school needs a drastic change!
This is not a friendly neighborhood school in my opinion. Usually after at least 2 years a friendly smile would be good.
This is our 2nd year here at mason. We have two kids there. I have to say that this is by far the best school we have put our kids in. The teachers are great and I love the diversity.
I am new to Duluth and my children have only attended Mason Elamentary for one week. They are excited about their teachers, and so am I. My husband and I are pleased with the communication between us and the teachers. I get instant responses and notifications concerning my children, and their teachers care about the development of the kids. We are looking forward to experiences a great year.
my kids have attended mason for 2 years and this is by far one of the best public schools. The teachers and parents are very involved in the education and socialization of the kids. If you are a new parent looking at sending your son or daughter to this school you will be very happen with this school.
My child has attended Mason Elementary for 1 year and loves it. The school he attended at before since kindergarten, received Gold and Platinum awards from the County. Not only has he done better at Mason academically, he also enjoys it better there than the other school. This is a great place for your child to attend. Don't only look at awards the school has earned, please talk to the parents and hear it first hand. You've heard mine.
My son has just completed Kindergarten at Mason and is keen to return. The school provides a clean, safe and nurturing environment. It is extremely well-organized and has a great deal of parent involvement. The school provides a lot of extra-curricular activities and there appears to be a lot of school spirit. From what I have seen to date, I have no qualms in highly recommending this school. Go Mustangs!
My kids only been at Mason for 3 months, and compared to the school they came from Mason is a very very GREAT school. The teacher are wonderful they treat the students like there own. If you are looking for a home away from home for your child this is the school to be at. MASON IS THE BEST!
My child has been at Mason 1 year and compared to the other school he has attended, I am very impressed with the academic structure, the projects required, the racial makeup, and the special events such as International Night. Overall I think Mason stands apart from the rest in terms of public schools.
The faculty and administration focus on the child. We are very happy with the attention given to help with learning habits, study skills and offering resources and extra help to help with self esteem and organization. They are available to answer questions and provide support tho the students.
Mason Elementary is a great place to not only teach but also where my child attended the majority of her elementary school years. The teachers truly care about each child and encourage him or her to meet his or her academic potential. They collaborate to ensure every child is successful at his or her level. The administration supports student learning as its top priority providing for both enrichment and remediation when necessary. Students are encouraged to always do and be their best.
As a parent and a teacher at mason, I must say the administration are among the most supportive group of people I have ever worked with. In my experience, they try to consider and fullfill the needs of everyone. For the most part, the teachers are involved, fair, and respectful to their students. 'Specials' are interesting and complete. Parents are very supportive and engaged! They are wonderful for the teachers and that helps the students!
It is very difficult to get intervention for kids who have work habits/organization issues. The students who get resources are those who have significant cognitive issues (self-contained) and those who are the gifted FOCUS students. Struggling 'average' students are neglected.
The administration, staff and parents work well together. There is a strong desire for continued higher learning, and because the staff love what they are doing, they go the extra mile for the children. The principal 'listens' to parents desires for their children, as well as encourages communication between teachers and parents. There is relatively no discipline issues. The school is diversified in students and staff.
This is an excellent school. the teachers are very attentive and respond quickly to parents concerns. The school provides a safe and healthy positive environment for the children. one of the best schools in the county.
