My son is in 1st grade. We love RRE. The best part of this school is how involved the parents are in their children's education. The parents and the great teachers are what makes this school so great! I couldn't be any happier knowing that everyday my son is getting the best education I could ask for!

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL ITS THE BEST! IT HAS A GREAT LUNCH FOR THE KIDS!

Posted December 29, 2011

My children attended this school for two years. We transitioned here from a private school. The staff and administration are pleasant and pretty involved, but as a whole our experience was very mediocre. There's some really good teachers, but it's luck of the draw to get one of the few. There are loads of extra curricular activities and field trips to expose the children, but in my opinion this time can be better utilized in the classroom. Very confusing routines that are always subject to change (both for parents and children). Too much junk mail and fundraisers coming home. Lots of last minute emails about projects due the next day and power points to study. Not enough work done in the classrooms. this school is not a 10. Maybe 6.75-8 at best.

RRE is a great school! The teachers care about the children and work extremely hard every day to ensure their students' success. Administration and faculty work together as a team and the school environment is always very welcoming. My child has been a student at River Ridge for 4 years and loves going to school!

This school is fantastic. The administration is fantastic and you can tell they really care about the students. I feel that this school is one of the best schools in the county!

I agree with the last couple of posts. The current principal does lack tact, unfortunately; I think the Asst Principal is very nice, professional, and cordial. One thing I've noticed quite a bit is that there is a big lack of communication amongst the staff at RRE. You would expect more quality. Also, the BS/AS program there, called RASP, doesn't do a good job of keeping proper tally of tuition received so make sure you keep record of your payments. I've corrected them twice on omissions of payments received. However, the RASP rep is extremely helpful and willing to work with you on any issues you may encounter. Looks to me like they are lacking basic accounting/bookeeping software since entries are made on paper to this day! You would think with all the fundraising events the school has that they would have recent technology to better their business. Overall I give this school 2 to 3 stars. I second that this school ranks great in GA but just okay nationwide.

The teachers overall seem to be good; however, there are a few bad apples. There are also some exceptional teachers that strive for exceeded excellence and genuine success through their students. There is a lot "junk/donation" mail soliciting parents daily; we have attend for three years and each year I have averaged over $375/yr in soliciting daily paperwork sent home. The princpal is also lacking in tact at times, but can be helpful if you are an extremely involved parent. Academically, this school excels by GA standards, but not nationally.

This our 2nd year at RRE. Our oldest was in 2nd grade last year 2009-2010 and had a fantastic teacher that really worked with him on some weak spots and he ultimately did just fine at the end of the year moving onto 3rd. Based on this experience, we thought we would have a similar experience with our youngest who started Kindergarten this year 2010-2011. We were WRONG. Unfortunately, the teachers that our youngest has have very passively suggested ADHD, granted- without actually *saying* "ADHD" - but used so many words, several times, alluding to it, particularly "impulsivity" (a heavily-used word in the realm of ADHD)- that they might as well have said it right out; of course, if they would have, they know they would be in very big trouble. We know/understand him best and since he is doing fine academically while not posing a physical threat, we do not agree with their passive suggestions. He's very spirited, always trying to be funny/center of attention. I fear for how many kids in this school/county may be unnecessarily drugged for the sake of teachers. Our son "hates" school now; way to go RRE at discouraging such a young child, his 1st school year!! We won't return next year!
