If you are seeking a positive environment and a Christian community in the Gainesville/Flowery Branch/Chestnut Mountain, GA area of North Georgia, please visit us on our new campus in Chestnut Mountain... conveniently located between 985 and 85, just 4 miles from each major highway. We partner with parents to prepare their children spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and servant leaders to the world. My 3 children have enjoyed the school for five years and my wife and I have had the privilege of serving our wonderful families for 3 years on the faculty. NGCS is a K-12 traditional school which has served the area since 1984. Come and see what God is doing at NGCS!
This school is exactly what is represents itself to be! My husband and I graduated one son from NGCS and have another entering 3rd grade there! What a wonderful, nurturing environment with exceptional accessibility to teachers and athletics in the Hall County area! Our older son is a sophomore at NGU in Dahlonega on a Zell Miller Scholarship and has pledged Sigma Chi (ie...Brett Baier from Fox News!). He is happy, well-adjusted and thriving in college. Our younger son is progressing well entering 3rd grade and feels safe, supported and challenged! WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL! So much heart! Almost all of the teachers have been with the school for years! Christian Character - Christian Beliefs - Christian Support!!!!! fiscally responsible and experienced leadership assures us that the tuition will remain affordable!
North Georgia is a loving, supportive school for our three children. The teachers are very experienced and professional and it shows. The administratiion is encouraging and working to build a school that encourages our children to live for Christ. We heartily recommend this school to families looking for a partner in helping to prepare their children for Kingdom living and leadership in the world.
Our three children have attended NGCS for five years and they love it. We are especially pleased with the love and care they receive from teachers and staff. The reading program is excellent and the Biblical emphasis is just right.
My children are happy and loved and stimulated academically and spiritually!
NGC is an excellent school. Our daughter has attended the school for many years, and we have been very pleased. The academics include a biblical worldview and the school offers a loving environment for the students and a strong sense of community for the family. She has participated in sports and other extra curricular activities. We would not consider any other school for her education.
I am sad to see what the board has done to our wonderful school. It seems as though they are determined to run this school into the ground. While enrollment has steadily declined over the past few years, the board continues to push the idea of building new facilities. They have broken away from the church and become their own entity. I believe this is a recipe for disaster. I doubt there will even be a NGCS or WCS in a year or two. Instead of concentrating on improving what already exsists the focus is on expanding into something else, no matter the cost. It is irresponsible and quite sad to see the school board run this school into the ground. Shame, shame.
My oldest child is a graduate of WCS (attended 3rd-12th grades). I have found that she was very well prepared for college! I still have 2 children in the school, and I am so blessed to have them there. Not only are they being prepared academically, but I am grateful that they have aquired spiritual discernment. Even though there are improvements to be made (just as in any school), I am grateful that my children have been blessed with an education from a Biblical view. We love WCS!!!
I was very discouraged by the comments made about this school. It strives and achieves academic excellence. Its SAT scores prove it! I love that WCS does not prepare for CRCT/SAT testing the whole year. No school is perfect. Every school has something to work on. If you come to WCS/NGCS, it should not only be for the academic excellence it provides for students, but most importantly the Christian worldview.
We have attended school at WCS for 8 years. I am excitd at the changes and growth that we have been blessed to witness at WCS. The Board, Administration and staff, and qualified teachers have all strived to handle all problems over the years from a bibilical christian standpoint. There is a wholesome family atmosphere here with very supportive involved parents. My child has excelled in academics and when he needed extra help, teachers have been willing to stay after school regularly to tutor. We have felt that WCS truely partners with parents to help build Christian character in our children and help prepare them for life in the World.
We have been at WCS for two years and have been pleased with the education of our child. We are very excited about the new Head of School, Scott Smith, and believe that he is the man God has placed to turn things around. We have thought about placing our child in public school but believe that WCS is the best place for our family - we love WCS!
It disturbs me of what ive read in these reviews. All you can see is either the people whose job it is to lie and advertise giving us unfairly good, and people who hate the place giving failling ones. I cant support a Christian school who says things they dont actually keep just to make as much money as possible.
This school has been in a constant state of chaos and transition for years. It lacks academic leadership and qualified, caring teachers. It does not provide 'academic excellance' or 'partnering with the parents' as it advertises.
This is an excellent school. A very loving, caring and nuturing school. The curriculum is excellent and there is always help, when needed.
I have 2 children at the elementary level and 1 in the high school. All of my children are growing very strong academically and being taught not just A+ academics but a strong work ethic, Christian character (reinforcing what we, as parents, are striving to teach) as well as being held to the highest standards of accountability by wonderful, nurturing, very qualified teachers. My high-school student is being challenged in AP courses and also plans to dual enroll with a local college next year to get a jump on college credits (with much help, encouragement and guidance from the WCS Faculty). This year WCS extracurricular offerings have increased and that has added to the great sense of community within the school body. We are looking forward to seeing even more offerings and opportunities. I feel a great sense of blessing, peace and security knowing my children and family are part of WCS.
My children have been at WCS for 7 years. While no place is perfect, anytime I have had an issue we have been able to resolve it with respect and grace. We are very pleased with WCS. My children have been challenged academically and even more importantly spiritually. WCS is distinctly Christian and as a parent I highly value the assitance WCS provides me in raising up my children to honor God and see the relationship of God to every area of thier lives. I want my children to be trained with so they are well prepared to take the light of the gospel into college, work or where ever the Lord sends them. Academically, I will put my childrens' preparation up against any school in the area. I would recommend WCS to any parent who wants a Christian education for thier child.
We have had 2 children at WCS and will have a 3rd this year an are completely happy with the school. There are many things on track for this year that will really make the experience even better. My kids are growing and becoming strong christians and developing great academics as well.
We are completely disappopinted at Westminster Christian School. When our children first attended Westminster, it was avery good academic institution with biblical teaching and a good wholesome family type atmosphere. With the assumption of power by new school board members, that atmosphere and quality are now missing. We are not sending our children back to this school. We would encourage anyone who is considering this school to really investigate if it is a viable alternative to public school. We do not think so.
WCS is pleased to announce that we have greatly enhanced our Safety Program. We have installed state-of-the-art software, strategically-located cameras, a sophisticated video (recording) system, and key cards for designated staff. The WCS Security and Safety committee, along with Westminster Parent-Teacher Organization (WPTO ) , have worked diligently over the past six months to do everything possible to ensure that our children remain safe during the school day. There are other safety measures already in place and we need you to know and feel totally confident that we take this aspect of our school very, very seriously. The protection of our children is a major focus of the WCS School Board and Administration. We welcome your questions and comments regarding your children and the safe environment in which we operate.
After reading several reviews I feel I need to submit some thoughts. My child has been at WCS for 5 years and I have been very pleased. I am concerned about the negative comments about the 3 headmasters in 3 yrs. The headmaster, Dr. Smith,we started with had been there for several years. He left to pursue a career on the college level after much thought and prayer. After him we did have Mr Bouvier for a short time. But he worked us through getting our 2nd accrediation and we are currently working to achieve the national accredidation for private christian schools. Academically my child has been well prepared. In fact more prepared than friends that are in public school in hall, lumpkin and forsyth counties. I know there are areas that need improvement and these concerns are being addressed. But I am happy biblically and academically.
I must say that Westminster was a colossal disappointment for our family in the 2006-2007 school year. Clearly, we will not be returning. WCS lacks true leadership at the administrative level. There are discernible issues of instability at WCS. The absence of a headmaster (three in the last four years) and the inability to retain teachers and students are a basis for tremendous concern. Safety and discipline are very inadequate indeed. In regard to discipline, students are not punished equally for an equivalent noncompliance. Academically the school is mediocre. Teachers are encouraged to all teach the same and acquire little support from the administration/school board. Much improvement is needed if the school is honestly to profess academic excellence.
