I have had two children go to this school. My son only had one teacher that really should have retired long before she did. He did very well each year after he had her. My daughter has excelled every year. The teachers are committed to giving your child the best education possible. They give the students the tools they need to be successful. We are very sad about the schools splitting up next year because we are losing Mr.Johnson. He is very caring, and always has something good to say about your child when you come through that door. He really makes you feel welcome. The office staff could be a lil more personable, but really that would be my only complaint. Job well done Mrs.Dillion!!
After moving from Bibb County, my children now attend Hubbard. We have been very pleased with the education our daughters have received here. I highly recommend it!
Very stressful environment to work in. Teachers are not encouraged to work together. Very serious morale problems. Most teachers will want to leave once the new school is built. Teachers are treated poorly cmpared to other teachers in the county.
I agree with this comment. This however is not a problem with teachers. This problem starts at the top with the administrators at the Central Office. Never any support for parents or the teachers that work with her.
This school lacks the ability to properly follow the IEP and given the special needs children what they need to excel in life . they lack the ability the communicate with each other and unless you are willing to police the teachers and make sure they follow what they are supose to do dont go if your child has special needs
I know that the administrators, all instructors, all staff, custodians, meal providers, and children guardianship make sure the learners receive all the nourishment of education. I have been in this institution of learning for more than 25 years. I am not tired yet. I enjoy coming to our learning institution daily. I try to arrive before time and definitely stay pass the ending time. When you enjoy something you do it best 'Just Because'. This is our '5 Star Attitude'. Congratulation to ALL of S.E.H.E.S. SUPER INSTRUCTORS
Title I School of Distinction for 8 consecutive years - every year this award has been given. Over 5000 hours of parent involvement recorded last year! Principal was selected National Distinguished Principal last year through NAESP (National Association of Elementary School Principals)
Hubbard Elementary has a great teacher by the name of Jason Reese. He what makes kids motivated to learn my son was in his classroom last year. He never stopped talking about how much he loved Mr. Reese. Thank you Monroe County for this teacher.
My son has attended Hubbard Elementary since he was in 1st grade and has had wonderful teachers and a terrific experience all the way through 5th grade. I have been extremely impressed with the faculty and administrative support. I travel quite a distance and will continue to do just that to be assured that my son is in a safe environment where he can get a top-notch education.
My child attended 3,4 and 5th grade here. I was not impressed. He was diagnosed as ad/hd in third grade, he did not get the proper attention he was entitled under the 504, he was punished for his disorder instead of teachers and the principal working with him and myself to develope an appropriate learning plan until he was in the 6th grade. He had a teacher in the 6th grade who could not deal with children who were not push button students.
