I am a parent of a student at AWCMS and was very impressed with the improvements the school made for the 2007-2008 school year. The writing test scores were up significantly and I feel that although the school has improvements to be made that overall the faculty and staff work hard for the benefit for our students. Also, kudos to Ms. Mandel and Ms. Echols for all of their hard work this year.

My son attended 6th grade here for 07-08 and will not return. As much as I hate the thought of having to pay for private schooling, I feel as I have no choice if my son is to have a chance to sit and learn w/o the distraction of unruley kids and teachers that can't control the class.

My ADHD child was in AWCMC through the 6th grade and started the 7th. In the 6th grade (2006-2007) he received wonderful instruction and I was always kept abreast of all aspects of his education. However, when he returned for the 7th grade, I was told by one of his instructors that she did not have time to write in the agenda book and appearantly none of his instructors (regular teachers and special education teacher) did not have time to get in touch with me at any time. When he brought home below average grades, I was told they were surprised and would 'look into' it.

My child was in the sixth grade at AWCMS. This seems to be a nice school, but it definately has room for improvement.
