This is a great school. My child learned so much and aced the CRCT. The staff here encourages students to become self-motivated independent learners. They make students active participants in learning. In other schools all the focus was on the notion of conformity through uniforms and thought. I like that this school taught my child independent thought is a good thing, as well as challenging the students. I feel like my child does not want to be a follower now, but a leader. My child loves going to school and learning because the staff treats the children like they matter. They do not use the bare minimum approach to teaching. Educators here really care about what they teach and it shows. Way to go Grovetown! I am sad that my child is moving on now to middle school but I know the staff here has laid a solid foundation that will last in the future.
Grovetown Elementary is an awesome school. We are a military family & have had two kids here from K-4th. We moved here from NC 4 yrs ago & my oldest son was behind. The teachers really did their part to get him caught up. They also have a great jump rope team. Unfortunately, we are moving soon. We will miss this school so much!
Grovetown Elementary is a fantastic school! The teachers are amazing! Everyone seems to want exactly what we, as parents, want: the best for each child. We are military and are moving soon. The worst part about it, for me, is the fact the my children have to leave Grovetown Elementary.
we are military ! Dont let the looks fool u cuz I wasnt to impressed LOL , my son went into k not knowing really anything , he had learning issues they helped him Mrs Cash Mrs Collins unbeleivable teacher ! my son gets 100 on spelling and now is reading im very very happy and very sad that i cant take this school with us to ft bliss =( they do not tolerate bad behavior !!!! and i like that as well .... i recomend this school to the military famlies cuz the base school is not so good !
We have been at Grovetown Elementary for 2 years now. I've experienced Pre-K through 2nd grade with my 3 children. The school, I agree, is very run down and not the nicest BUT that doesn't reflect on the teachers and staff. All of my kids' teachers have been wonderful. This school deals with a lot of military families and I'm sure it makes things more difficult for them, but we have never had a problem. Everything has been very well organized. The teachers are very caring, whether your kids are super smart or a little challenging, which I have both. If there has ever been an issue with regards to student behavior that's inappropriate it is dealt with quickly and fairly. There is no tolerance for inappropriate behavior, which makes me feel better.
Being in the military made us switch schools constantly. I still haven't found the perfect school, but I do have to say that I really liked Sue Reynolds Elementary in Augusta, GA. They did great with my kids. My three kids loved going to school and the teacher were great. The only thing I did not like was the amount of homework that was given. My children would usually take more than an hour a night, sometimes close to two hours a night.
They have made many improvements to front and back of the school. I have to say that Grovetown Elementary is a very well rounded school. It is growing beyond their buget, and still they keep it together. I have three children and they have loved all of their teachers! Mr. Boyd has been doing a great job!
My two kids went to G'town and I have to say the school was filthy and undisciplined.
Grovetown has a sense of pride. The kids love the school and the teachers love to work there. They provide a caring enviroment and even a spanish speaking person that shows her love and care for latin inmigrants. What a lesson for other schools!
My three children attended Grovetown Elementary for three years we experienced pre-K through 4th grade and loved every minute! As a military family, I can hoestly say this was the best school we have ever been affiliated with. May not be the 'richest' or 'most elite' but definitely the most caring! I do not know if Mr. Carey is still there- but he was a visionary in early childhood education. Thanks to Grovetown my children received the foundations to set them up for excellence. We are still reaping the benefits of the early years!
