Just to add a note to my previous statement. If you didn't know any different then I suppose someone would think this school is "ok" but compared to other schools across the state it is very subpar in every category no matter what the poistive reviews on here may say! If you're considering moving here then be sure and do your research about the schools in this area....you may change your mind!!!

I went to high school here and I can say that some of the people teaching me were some of the best people I've ever known. On top of everything the principal really cares about his school and does everything he can to make it better. As he continues to assemble a better team of teachers (he is constantly reviewing and getting rid of teachers who aren't doing their job) the schools test scores are improving. And also the school is pretty small, but there are lots of opportunities to be found. Mr. Gonzalez takes a group of students to Europe just about every year, and Spanish Club goes on an annual trip (we went to NYC one year and it was amazing). You just have to find a way to plug in and if you behave in classes (and aren't a pain) the teachers will bend over backwards to help.

Our daughter loves Jackson High, she is an Honor Student and often comments on how she appreciates just how much the teachers that she has had the opportunity to have are willing to help when needed. We are looking forward to anther Super Year!

When we first came to Jackson High, I was unsure of how our daughter would be treated due to her prior experience at another school in Gwinnett county. I spoke with her counselor, Mrs. Rankin and told her my feelings and how my husband and I felt. She has improved with the help of Mrs. Rankin and has made a huge turn around in her life . I can't say thank you enough to Mrs. Rankin in sticking by our daughter and encouraging her.We are so happy we switched schools now and have seen our daughter grow in so many ways. Thanks Mrs. Rankin for giving our daughter a chance and not mis judging her on her prior records. Our daughter loves most of her teachers as well and is now an honor roll student. Thanks to the staff at JHS.

When we decided to enroll my grandson into the Jackson system we first did so with some trepidation. However, soon after his enrollment our concerns were laid to rest. He soon involved himself with the School's ROTC program and began an exciting High School term. He is graduating now and on his way to college with a good solid foundation of tools we are sure he will be able to utilize. The teachers care as much as the parents do. Some more than others.(Just like the parents) Get the kids involved then see the grades change. The school system is fine and the leadership is under control. Great system.

This school has a problem with teachers who care. The problem is...there are only maybe 5 who do care. I was an honor roll student and never got into trouble in school, but when I arrived in College I had to take intermediate math. Things I was suppose to 'know' in 9th grade I had never seen before. I guess what I'm saying is that the departments are EXTREMELY laking (ESP. math) in what they are teaching YOUR CHILDREN. I do not recommend this school to anyone If I had a choice, I would not have gone here, and my future children will not either.

We have extreme reservations about supervision levels and security at JHS. After school activity is minimally supervised.
