This schhol has went from being a growing and thriving environment to barely existing. It was ran into the ground by a board of people had know clue what they were doing.

Great school! Every child has an opportunity to participate in athletic and academic competitions. Great student to teacher ratio!

I think Twiggs Academy is the best option for kids and Parents in Twiggs County. As a Twiggs Academy Graduate that earned a B.S. from Georgia and an MBA from Mercer, I can say from an objective standpoint that Twiggs Academy gives students all the tools they need to succeed. However, I would like to see more focus on SAT scores (maybe even a class offered to juniors and seniors on the SAT), more marketing in Twiggs County and surrounding areas, development of a clear vision and mission statement, and more educated members on the board. I am not trying to criticize though, compared to the shape our county schools are in, Twiggs Academy is a great choice for students and parents. You never have to worry about your kids being victims of violence or gang activity at T.A. A child's safety really is worth it.

I attended Twiggs Academy from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I felt like I had the best school experience a student could. The school provides a safe environment. The student to teacher ratio provides the opportunity for teachers to adequately support the student and ensure understanding. I was a part of the 2002 State Champion basketball team as well as being very equipped to attend Middle Georgia College in Fall 2003. TA provided me with the adequate knowledge to attain nearly a 4.0 there and to graduate with honors. I am now attending Georgia Southern University where I have a 4.0. This school has gone through it's rough patches, but I believe the teachers and staff should be commended on sticking in there when everything said to give up. I take pride in being a part of TA and I would give it the highest rating possible! Elly Faulk

This is our second year at TA, and I must say that it is a wonderful school, my children are getting better grades, and they like to go. No more 6am battel. The teachers are the best! Smaller classes, less stress. Some of the parents and non teaching staff are snooty. We could use a band class or some kind of music, and maybe some sports to get into. My overall review is that it is worth all the money!

Kudos to our new Academy Administrator. Our administrator, along with parents, board, and staff, are working hard to put T.A. 'back on the map.' Teachers at T.A. strive to provide a quality education in within a Christian environment. Our students are continuing to receive a top-notch education in a very safe and nurturing environment. With the help of our Lord, dedicated parents, faculty, board, and staff, T.A. will continue to overcome the odds and produce high calibre students.

We left Twiggs this year because of the poor SAT scores and many other problems teachers so not have tools they need to do their job. The principal is now new and that may have some effect on how the school will be ran but there are alot of improvements that need to be addressed. The school needs improvements on the outside in order to draw in more students. There should be no leaving children in the classrooms, safer grounds and rules for the older children (after school in parking lot). The board members were replaced however you have the same problem a former teacher on the board now as you did when her friends husband was on board. Unfriendly and snobby. We were promised better this year, but I can not pay to go when no one can even tell me if they were combining classes until after school starts!

My daughter graduated from Twiggs Academy in 2000. She has now graduated Magna Cum Laude (2004) from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She and our family loved our time at TA. I highly recommend it for a good school with a christian background.

I think that Twiggs Academy is a great school. In my opinion we need a principal that puts forth a little more effort, and definitely need to get rid of a certain board member. I think that the teachers are wonderful who care for the children and put forth lots of effort in teaching in and out of the claasroom.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
