I like their athletics program. Their girls basketball team made it to the 2010-2011 county championship for the first time since the school was changed from jr.high to middle.

My daughter has been attending PSMS for 2 years and is very happy there. She is an honor student and a cheerleader who helped her school win the 2008 Clayton County Championship. I am VERY impressed with the principal (Dean Lillard) and (most of) his staff. I have never seen such a caring, hands-on and 'cool' administrator! The school can communicate better about upcoming events. Many times I have been annoyed at their 'last minute' scheduling.

PSMS is making a bold attempt to overcome the obstacles (such as gangs, drugs, fights, parental involvement, and etc.) that are plaguing most suburban schools. We, the staff, can't do this alone. The opportunities awarded those students at PSMS who want to learn are often discontinued due to the behavior of most of the students. Parents and the community are quick make us aware of what they say we are doing wrong and how they think we should fixed. And that is the end of their involvement, there is very few parents who actually volunteer to see our daily activities. PSMS wants to change it reputation and situation but we cannot do it alone. We need our parents to stop acting like they didn't know their child was a reported gang member or drug dealer; stop acting like their angel at home is not the devil at school. Support us.

This school is the worst school. There is too many fights and really poor education. I have two students that came from this school and were so far behind that I had to hold one of them back to let them catch up. There is no parent involvement and most of the teachers I feel they are there just for the check not to help students learn.

Pointe South middle school has great students but some just not interested in school but the teachers are interested in them. I think that Pointe South will have a great year this year with Mr.Lillard as the principle and Mr.Walraven and Dr.Vickers as the assistant principle. But this school does need more parental involvement and has a little problem with too many fights.

I just had to transfer my son from a great school MMMS to PSMS and has to be the worst thing ever for my son. He is a A-b student and he really dislikes the fact that he had to change schools it so bad for him that he cried. He was in all these activities in MMMS and once he got to PSMS there was nothing for him to do. I'm going to do everything in my power to get to another school, because there is just to much fighting and other things going on at this school. I want my son to be able to go to school and learn not have to worry about his safety.

This school has had its ups and downs, but I believe it will be a good year and the school will keep improving.

The teachers strongly recommend parents/teacher involvement. The teachers are always available to help the parents as long as the parents are willing to be involve in the children learning.

Pointe South Middle School is the worst school I've seen. The teachers are not interested in the students. There's a few teacher that still care. The teachers just don't care about the students, grades, or anything. It's a bad school
