LMS is a great school because teachers and students care about learning. They also care about one another. Students are making a commitment to stay in school and teachers are making a commitment to keep them in school. Our administrators are wonderful leaders who lead by example.
I am a parent who takes great strides in getting involved in my kids education. My son has had problems with bullies at the school and I feel that he is not heard.Time after time nothing is done about the harrassment and bulling.I would love to see more involvement from teachers and resource officers to control this issue.I see things getting worse if nothing is done. Also I wish more parents would get involved.
'I am a student at LMS, and I think that it's not the teacher's fault that the parent's don't get involved. It's there own fault. If they loved their kids as much as they say that they do then they'll get involved. So parennts quit complaining and do something. The school has the best teachers in the whole wide world!Team 7-1 has the best teachers lik:Mrs.Walker,Mr.Carter, Mr.Decker,& Mrs.Leichner.They are always there 4 me when I need to tell some one something. They've never let me down & I'm sure they never will.So if you're looking for a place to send your child, send them here. -Kristen Leigh Babbitt
If the adults would listen to the children more and the teachers stay in the classrooms then most of our children would not be on the streets instead of being where they are supposed to be and that is in the classrooms.
'I am a student at LMS and I love my school.' This school is a very good school. We might have trouble at our school but it is a very safe school. We have never had any trouble at my school except for the fights here and there but, the teachers handle if very good. The teachers do help us and we learn lots of stuff that we will need use we get older and get a job. Our school is a very good school.
I'm a student at LMS,the school is pretty much filled with kids just waiting to start trouble, its a very unsafe enviroment,I feel like I am constantly worried with kids fighting, and doing drugs.the school is meant to hold about 500 kids, but we however have a school with 900 something kids, its packed, the halls are a very unsafe place, and due to lack of classrooms,we have close to 20-if not more, trailer units.the availability of connection classes are sparse, music and art were cut out last year, leaving us with only coumputers,PE,and technology. As far as parent involvement goes,I see lots of parents helping out around the school, but its usually the same six or seven people.I sometimes feel the school is biased when it comes to the students involvement in sports or after school-activities.you usually have to be a child of a coach,or teacher,to make any athletic team.in my opinion lms is a bad learning facility.
I totally agree with another parent on communication skills between teachers with parents. The teachers do not take time for children who have problems in their classrooms whether it be struggling with their work, socializing problems or bullying. That is a major concern in this school where no one will take action to the laws of bullying and reenforcing them.
I agree that there is not enough parental involvment. I feel that if the principal would take a more direct role with the children and let them know what is expected of them and what concequences with be taken if those expectations are not met and prove that he means what he says then things would be much better. The teachers are not good at communicating with parents either. Make it a more parent friendly school. Out of 3 years I have been called 2 times to volunteer.
My child has really excelled in the middle school. I had heard a lot of bad things about the middle school, and there were a few incidents that happen right after school began, but there are problems in all schools but I feel that the administration have handled them well and with as little disruption at possible.
Lack of parental support in this school is sadly lacking...there is no active organization that parents attend. Few parents appear even interested in what their child is doing and many do not even communicate with the school at all.
