My son is a senior. He has loved going to school here. Most of his teachers have been great. And he has been prepared well for college. So thankful for the past 4 years and happy that I get more years there with my other son and daughter.
Students are given homework as per the level of the class they select. Teachers know how much homework to assign as per the level of the subject. Students are able to complete their homework, participate in extra curricular activities and balance their academic and social life.
AWARD WINNING SCHOOL IN FAST GROWING AREA! THE SCHOOL HAS VERY HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS. THE PRINCIPAL MAKES SURE THAT ACADEMICS & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE WELL BALANCED. MY DAUGHTER REALLY LEARNED A LOT AT THE SCHOOL. TEACHERS ALSO HOLD EXTRA TUTORING SESSIONS AFTER SCHOOL WHICH HELPS THE KIDS IF THEY NEED EXTRA HELP.
Sorry, but my kid is actually at Twin Rivers Middle. I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on the cause of Mountain View scoring so poorly compared to the elementary, and middle schools that feed into it. What's happening with these kids at this school? It appears they get to Mountain View and start under performing compared to just a year or so prior?
For a new school, this school has accomplished a lot and continues to grow in academic and extracurricular activities. While there are so many incredible teachers, there are numerous teachers in the opposite spectrum-because more than one teacher teaches the same course, the grade is jeopardized by which teacher the student gets. To add on to the student:counselor ratio that was mentioned in another post, the counselors at the school, except one, has NO EXPERTISE on college admission. So far, the best advice I got from my "counselor" was "Apply to College.". While the counselors are friendly and sweet, they really don't have any knowledge/advice beyond what a Google search would give you. My counselor wasn't even aware that UGA uses its own application when it is one of the most applied college/university at Mountain View...
Mountain View is the best school ever!!!! My son graduated in 2012 and was enrolled when they first opened. Mr. Chaney is the BEST and Mrs. Fisher his AP teacher was AWESOME!!! I am so glad we had the opportunity to be involved with Mountain View!!! We are BEARS to the end!!!
