Discovery Academy

Discovery is Lithonia's best kept secret. The school environment has successfully balanced nurturing and academic characteristics that have helped to shape the character of its students. Discovery has a heavy amount of parental involvement and the enrichment programs are awesome. My 7 year old started when she was 3 and continues to excel in the advanced curiculum.

I'm a parent of 2 students at Discovery. I can say that I am getting my money's worth with the education that my children are receiving. I am very happy that a parent told me about this gem that we have in our community. I have been impressed since I've walked through the door. I love the atmosphere, the challenging academics, the sincere attitude of the teachers and staff, and the way the students respond to education in such a positive way. The school has a very high parental involvement that gives me the opportunity to be involved in my child s classroom, field trips, and the school as a whole. Discovery Academy is awesome! The quality of the faculty, the curriculum, and the extracurricular activities combine to form an incredible overall experience for the children. The teachers are very supportive and truly care about the children, and it's reflected in the smiles of the students. The principal makes a great effort to search for the best teaching staff available. The school is academically challenging, the kids all work a level above their current grade. The parental involvement is exceptional, I love the opportunity to be involved in my child s classroom and the school as a whole. Special social and extra-curricular events enhance this educational experience for students and parents alike thru monthly field trips, weekly visitors that introduce the children to music, art, science, cultures and many other areas. There is a strong sense of community here, at Discovery you feel as if you re part of one big family.

Discovery Academy is excellent in terms of curriculum and caring for the children. Children are reading at 4! It's a wonderful family environment, educational field trips and visitors come as well. Great school! Parents are tremendously involved as well.
