My child has been at Marbut for three years and I am totally happy with the school and the leadership. You and your child must be willing to do the work to enjoy all that the school has to offer. Parents must volunteer. I have read a couple of negative reviews, and it seems as if those are parents that are use to just dropping their child off to school and picking them up. They do not want to assist in the homework or projects. Speaking as a parent, those are the ones that you want to leave the school. Those are the children thqt slow down the classes and the parents that do not show up for meetings. They eventually pull the school down. At Marbut parents have to participate in order for their child to succeed. It is a great school.

Marbut is great school, it is however not easy. Not on the kids or the parents who have to do mandatory volunteer hours The staff cares, the class and homework work is challenging, but in the end the kids grow and perform well. I can tell how well my child is tought at Marbut when she is around other children of the same age who go to schools that are not as challenging. She shines just a little more. Not all parents can deal with the requirements, but if everybody could do it, then it wouldn't be special.

Marbut is a great school considering it is located in the heart of Dekalb County which is a not so great school system. My child attended Marbut from 2nd-5th grade and it was the best thing I could have ever done for my son. He was challenged on a daily basis. I was challenged as well. The leadership from the principal definitely filters down to the staff. The entire staff genuinely cares for the children and are determined to have their students succeed.

I hate the fact that some teachers do not give age-appropriate assignments. I would like to see one of those teachers successfully fly a rocket ship to the moon solo with out the appropriate training and qualifications beforehand! School should be fun, not a headache for parents! Children should feel good about their OWN achievements in school over the years, not the fact that their parents had to do most of the work for their projects and some assignments.

I LOVE Marbut! If you are not willing to volunteer or are unable to, this is not the school for you. If you arent willing to work with your child every night on homework, this is not the school for you. I have seen it time and time again where in a regular school they give the child MINIMAL homework and NOTHING is enforced. Here you MUST do your volunteer time, projects, MPU and homework. Ms. Zeigler is GREAT! The only cons; the parking lot is way too small. And I think Marbut should consider having an entrance exam. If your child is lazy, please keep them where they are. They will only be taking up room for a child that is truly willing to work, and make the extra effort to comply with the STANDARDS that Marbut tries to live up to!

Coming from the middle georgia (Warner Robins, Ga ) school district having my child attend public school in DeKalb County was totally scary. Overcrowded class and I heard that the bullying was over the top in the school system. We tried Marbut and I liked the parental involvement concept. The school was a perfect fit for my son. Marbut is not for everyone or every child. I urge parents to chose schools that add positively to who your child is scholastically and personally. I would strongly urge you to chose another school if you lack time management skills, and if your child has difficulty learning. It is fast paced and challenging. I always say, 'Set your child up for success not failure!'

Marbut Elementary is an excellent. My daughter started in Kindergarten in 2008 and she had done very well. The teachers are excellent and also the principal who is a no nonsense person, which I love. Principal and teachers shows so much interest in the children, it it truly amazing. Thanks very much Marbut Faculity and Staff.

Both of my daughters had the Marbut experience. The school has created a positive self drive in them. They are confident in the things they do, but humble enough to respect the beliefs and thoughts of others. Marbut keep producing 'The Leaders of Tommorrow'.

My son started this school in the 3rd grade and now he is in the 4th. He did not want to leave his old school (which rated a 1 ) Marbut pushes him to be a better student and that is what he needed. The push from home and school. The parental involvment is fair and the projects they do just gets them prepared for their next level in education.
