Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This is my first year at Panola Way Elementary and it has been a great experience so far, definitely better than my last school. I like the attitude of most of the staff. I like the family spirit cultivated by the leadership there, and I certainly know what a messed up Principal can do to a school. I like the ideas implimented there to foster improvement and success.I wished that more parents can show up for the sake of their kids. I dont get the impression that enough are plugged in. I believe students are feeding off of their parents interest / involvement. I have a front row seat to see how change is done at this school. I cant say I wish I were a teacher because I have seen what they have to deal with each day.Teaching is nice but having to discipline ALL day must hurt!!

School is great I went here when I was younger. About 8-9 yrs old. But, huge but. I got a call yesterday from my 9 yr olds teacher. She was reporting his behavior. I'm 32 with 4 kids. I'm a disciplinarian. Which my kids know. I don't allow disrespectful children or behavior. But this teacher in paticular was kinda' short, rude when she called me. I'm an adult just like she is. Teachers have a difficult job & I feel they should recieve alot more for what their job intails. But please don't call my house again being short & rude with me. She didn't say have a nice day or anything. Just click "ok bye" was her words then I heard the dial tone. Lil more respect please. My job helps keeps you & yours safe. Respect to me & i'll respect you back. Simple concept. Let's do better GOD is watching. That's most important.......................

THE KIDS AT PANOLA ELEMENTARY IS NOT WELL BEHAVED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THET LIVE IN. THE PRINCPLE DID RIDE THE BUS TO OBSERVE THE KIDS & HE WAS VERY UPSET. PARENTS YOU NEED TO TEACH YOUR CHILDREN SELF DISCIPLINE. THE SCHOOLS CAN NOT TEACH THE KIDS WHAT THE PARENTS DO NOT AFTER READING THESE COMMENTS I CAN SEE WHY THE TEACHERS ARE CURSING & YELLING, THAT'S WHAT GOES ON IN THE HOME. I CALLED PANOLA WAY ELEMENTARY A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THE WORKERS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND WOULD NOT LET ME TALK TO THE PRINCIPAL.

This is the worst school! If I could give 0 stars I would. Just as the reviewer before me said "Panola Way Elementary has a major issue which I believe begins with the staff." is correct. I am one of those parents that just pop up to check on my child and when I walked the hallways I heard teachers verbally abusing children. I mean really cursing at a child and when I walked into my own child's classroom her teacher was telling them they get on her f-ing nerves and shut the f-up! She was doing it so much that she didn't even see me standing there! I complained to the office and was told I was lying on the teacher. Later on my child's teacher started encouraging other children to bully my child with the promise of no homework or money. I found this out when one of the kid's parents came to my house to tell me what was going on. Needless, to say I removed my child from Panola Way and have started homeschooling instead.

Panola Way Elementary has a major issue which I believe begins with the staff. I have never experienced such hostile and lack of professionalism from a member of a school staff which I will be contacting the Board of Education regarding this matter. If this individual was the principal, Panola Way has an unsuccessful future ahead.

I believe the staffs at Panola Way Elementary are doing what they can do. Yes there are some teachers that are not the best role models but there are some teachers that are good role models. I believe that they feed off of the parents. If the parent do not care about what goes on in the education why they should? The teachers do what they need to do to keep their jobs and that is it. What more do you want from a teacher? It is the parents that need to act more. When they do the school will do better (meaning better teachers and more school supplies). We send our children to school to be educated, we as parents need to go over the school work to make sure that our children are retaining what is being taught, and our children need to put in an effort too. The teachers can do but so much! It is a 3 way street when it comes to learning.

The quality of education is wonderful, test taking skills are lead by a great staff and the activities for the kids and the parental involvement are super.

This is a great school for me. Both of my children attend Panola Way and so far the experience has been great. They have a new principal (Dr. Beavers) and she is doing an exceptional job with the new staff. Depends on the grade level for your child, there is more homework and projects involve in their daily routines. I say Go Panola Way.

I am new to Atlanta and my children were made to go to Panola Way Elementary. I have never seen such a poor learning environment. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and disorganized. I drop my children off every morning to the same scowling faces, who are supposed to mold their minds. The teachers are a disappointment; they could care less about teaching. After a teachers conference I knew more about her social life, than I knew about my child s academics. No child left behind, are they kidding, this whole school is left behind.

My daughter attended Panola Way Elementary from Kindergarten through Second Grade. My experience trying because I feel as though my daughter was not pushed enough academically. The academic programs could use some improvements. My daughter was exposed to music, art, and sports. There was a average amount of parental involvement at the school. One thing I must say about the administrative staff is that they tend to be very disorganized. The principal is a good listener and works to get issues solved, but some of the teachers/counselors are very rude when it comes to asking questions. They seem to feel as though they can talk to parents and children as they please, which is not in an appropriate mannner. I am glad that my daughter is not attending the school, especially because of the way the children communicate with each other (a lot of broken english and too much slang).

When my son was first enrolled at Panola Way. I assumed this was a pretty good school. But as time privailed, I realized some of the teachers here are not teaching. They are thier for a pay check. School has changed dramatically since I was a child. I had a teacher tell me at Panola that the children either get the education, or they don't, which makes me wonder about the no child left behind. Well, with an attitude like that I'm assuming alot of children will be left behind without a clue. Which apparently is the case considering the test scores. I think the principle needs to be alot more involved.

There is n reason that our children should be held to such a low standard of education. There are no challenges, the children are poorly supervived and even the simple teaching of proper english is not done. How effective would it be if our teachers took the time to teach our children the proper way to enunciate.... to not say things like aint and nawl. I have witnessed these words being used in the presence of teachers and the principal and no one corrected these children. When considering wheter to sell our home this was a hugh factor. We just want educators who are truely commited to our childern. Educators who expect excellence not mediocrity.

Panola Way Elementary school is a testament to why we need school choice in Georgia. The children are not well-supervised. The administrators and staff are very disorganized and no one seems to know the correct answer or current procedure for things. Coming from a private school environment - it was a horrible experience. On top of all that, the school did not meet AYP requirements! The curriculum leaves much to be desired as well. My child is not challenged. Parents who are serious about the influences and education your child receives - beware!
