I love PCA, I have two children attending there and they love it also. The teachers really care about the kids. The work is very challenging but my kids are doing excellent. This is a wonderful foundation for all children!!!
My daughter attended PCA and the only real concern I had was the fact that most of the teachers spoke Ebonics and in very heavy slang. I had to take my daughter out so she could learn English.
I went to Progressive and it was great it taught how to be strong and walk in righteousness.
I have 2 boys at PCA. The pre-school program is awesome. The children have a strong Christian foundation and continue to build upon it as they progress year after year. The faculty and staff are very involved for the most part and genuinely care for the children. I agree that the school does need to be remodeled so that the structure fits the quality of education, students, and staff that it houses.
Progressive is the best school in Macon!!! My son started progressive in the 4th grade and he graduated with honors in the 8th grade. He was in gifted classes his 9th grade year and has been in AP classes in highschool for 3 years earning college credit. My son is now 16 and in his senior year in highschool. He is on his way to Morehouse College and is prepared because Dr. Tolbert and her staff demand excellence from these children and the kids reverberate the demand. Before my son started this school, he was always in the office and in trouble at prior schools. My family and I can never repay PCA for what they have given him spiritually and emotionally. He feels he will succeed at anything he does because wherever he is God is! The Powells
I have 2 children that attend PCA, both have been there since preschool ( now in 6th and 3rd). Progressive has been so good for my oldest child who struggled in reading and math. All her teachers have helped me tutor her and always send extra worksheets to help her at home. These same teachers have stayed many hours after school to help her with her studies. Her grades have improved because of the extra time they give. My 2nd child has been on the honor roll since she started and continues to excel. The teachers at PCA are like family, not faculty, they go the extra mile, without that much reward. Let's be honest no teacher is making good money, especially not the ones at Progressive because it's a private school. Progressive has been successfully ran for over 20 years. Dr. Tolbert, the principal, is an angel from Heaven!
I had two children to attend Progressive, It was somewhat of a great experience for my now nine year old, who attended from the age of 3-9, but for my now 4 year old it was a different experience! I have notice thru the years how the school has made a major transformation negatively! Major problems exist at Progressive that need to be addressed, such as unqualified teachers/teachers aids, the ones that were there have left and there are only a few left, and the upgrading of the school. we as parents paid enough money and should have seen notice where it was being spent! needless to say my children will not be attending Progressive this year until major changes are made...I pray that this school stays open because it has done great things for children, but if the same problems continue to exits, I see no future!
I think this school needs a major transformation. The school needs to renovated.
I have a first grader and a pre-k student at Progressive and I am very pleased with their progress. My first grader is reading on a 4th grade level and my Pre-k student is now beginning to read, The school is very fundamentally sound and enforces strong discipline, unlike the public schools. We love it!
Progressive Christian Academy is a great school. I have one attending the school and she loves it.Recently I tried public school and she had so many problems adjusting that I decided to send her back to progressive. Overall the school is great on focusing on behavior, academics, the bible and parent/teacher/student activities. I will highly recommend for parents to send their children to this school. It prepares them so much better than the public school systems. The principal and staff does great things for the students and parent. It's a great school!
