We have a public tuition free special needs High School in East Macon. After paying tons of FEES for interviews/applications and wracking my brain figuring out how to budget this expensive private school for a lower middle class family and impossible with no scholarships at that time...this school suddenly decided my student was too dull for their ADVANCED program...and w/o $$$$ will not even communicate with me now that GSNS makes budgeting/attending there possible. But that is ok...because my student is BRIGHT..not a behavior problem and cherished at this current High School serving ASD students.

My child's standardized test scores actually FELL while going to this school -- he scored higher at the beginning of the year than at the end. I do not feel this school is appropriate for college-bound students, and the academics are not up to public school standards. Too much time is spent on non-academic, day-care-type activities such as coloring xeroxed pictures, blowing up balloons, watching non-educational movies, pre-school level crafts (toilet paper rolls & construction paper, etc.), and fund raising (such as asking local businesses to buy spaghetti dinners from the school). Homework is virtually non-existant. On the plus side, class sizes are small and the students do get more individualized attention for social issues. The For students with severe learning issues that will realistically not be able to attend higher education, this school would be appropriate. But, I think it is misleading to say that it is 'college

This school has done wonders for my child. After leaving monre county school system due to unsatifactory compliance with the IEP. The personal attention from the teachers and the small class rooms are just what he needs.

After having such a hard time in Perry Middle school, my child now wakes up wanting to go to Woodfield! He is making very good grades, the teachers are attentive and help him a great deal. He sees school as is should be.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
