Blackwell has been an excellent school for my special needs child.. He was very disruptive at first and they were very supportive.. They gave him Psychological exam and found his learning disorder and ADHD. Since then he has not had office visits we found proper medication.. Thank you Blackwell.

My daughter attended Blackwell K-2. I was comparing it to the old school my daughter went to. Principal Dr. Kozol had a meeting with me and my husband. We told her our concerns, what we were expecting and she was really understanding and made sure that my daughter was with the teacher with our expectation. When it was time for her to start second grade Dr.Kozol again made sure our daughter was put with another amazing teacher 'Mrs. Rosenberg' Each teacher is amazing in their own ways, but each teacher has their own teaching technique. You just have to see if the teacher your child is put with matches your child's needs. This school has made sure my daughter is getting the challenge she needs!

My son attended Blackwell K-5 grades. I volunteered in each of his classrooms and I was able to see first hand how wonderful the teachers were. He was always challenged by his teachers at Blackwell. He is now successful Sophmore at Kell HS. Blackwell has some of the best teachers in Cobb Co schools! Dedicated, caring, and concerned are just a few words to describe them. Because of these wonderful teacher's influence, he plans to become a teacher himself. A large problem is lack of parental volunteers. If each parent would take an hour out their schedule to volunteer in some capacity, more would be accomplished. Instead, a few parents give up many hours to pick up the slack of those that do not volunteer any of their time. Parents that work are able to volunteer if they truly want to make a difference.

My grand-daughter has been going to Blackwell Elem. since 1st grade. I'm please with the overall structure of the school. The teachers are very courteous and helpful. However, I'm very disappointed that she did not get any home work in 2nd grade, hope 3rd grade will be better.

My two stepsons went to Blackwell. We are making a poitn of avoiding it while looking for a new house. ASP was very unsupervised. They got good grades without much studying and it is showing now that they are in high school and middle school. The youngest had 4 different teachers his first grade year and 3 his 3rd grade year. The principal at the time brushed me off when I talked to her about it. The oldest had behavior problems and was given so many chances before we ever found out about it that it made it difficult to do anything about it. Not happy with this school at all. Our two youngest WILL NOT GO TO BLACKWELL.

My second child is going to Blackwell now and I have always been very happy with the staff. My concerns are always addressed in a professional caring manner. The addition of Dr. Brown and Mrs. Spencer has been a much needed one.My son and daughter love this school as do I!!! S Spotts

This is the first year my daughter is in a public school (4th grade) and I have been somewhat disappointed with the school. My daughter did well academically in her previous schools and am baffled how she can still obtain stellar grades when I don't ever see her studying and rarely does she have homework. Or homework of substance. I am also very disappointed with the after school care program. There is not enough supervision nor structure in the program.

We didn't have a great experience. Many in my son's 1st grade class were not able to read basic words 'and', 'the', etc. by Jan/Feb. Staff was not reactive at all to our concerns. After school program was not well supervised. Many 'hearsay' reports of complaints that were ignored. They do have a new principal this year, so perhaps things will change.

This is our first year at Blackwell and so far we are having a great experience. My son quickly made new friends and the quality of the educationis good. However, I would like to see more homework in his third grade class.

My child loved this school my family thinks that this is the best elemtry school in ga!!!!!!
