Contact the school before believing any of these posts good or bad. The staff will let you know what the program is all about. and how your child can benefit. Only you know what is best for your child and if this program is a good fit or not. Do your own homework and research before taking someones word on this. It's a difficult process to place you child in any long term program under the distressing circumstances that you may be currently facing. If you are seeking a program with a Christ centered world view then Shepherds Hill Academy (SHA) is definitely worth looking into. The program is structured, nurturing, solid academically and spiritually. This kind-of program is not inexpensive and will require a financial sacrifice on your part. Ask the Lord to guide your decision and choice in this matter. He will make it clear to you. My teen is not the same person she once was since being at SHA, her behavior, thought life and her relationship with the Lord have definitely improved. She is on a different path now and SHA has not only challenged her behaviorally, but in her attitudes, beliefs, view of herself and about how she treats others. I am thankful for those who serve at SHA

Obviously, a majority of these posts are plants. Don't send your kids here. It's expensive, damaging, and operating under the guise of a religious institution. Credits do not transfer regularly if you live out-of-state, especially on elective subjects, nor do the subjects themselves reflect a balanced, objective syllabus. If you want to spend money in the ballpark of $50k +, you're better-served sending your child to military school or another boarding program that has been vetted and accredited by its respective state.

I found the staff at Shepherds Hill Academy to be incredibly devoted to their youth! Our daughter came back with a whole new lease on life and a better , more intimate relationship with Christ! She is becoming the young woman we hope God would make of her, and she says much of it is due to her time at Shepherds Hill Academy

I can honestly say that Shepherd's Hill Academy saved my life. I was caught in drugs and sex and couldn t see any way out. Now Christ has showed me the way to new life.

The staff at Shepherd's Hill Academy pour their lives into each and every teenager. Their passion for this ministry, for the hurting boys and girls they work with every day, can come from God alone. They get to know each teen and love them like their own children. God is using Shepherd's Hill Academy in a powerful way to heal families just like ours

Besides all the other changes in our son since he went to Shepherd's Hill Academy, I m glad to see him doing well in school again. He has new motivation that s truly coming from within. Last year hewas failing. Now he s making all B s and looking forward to graduating on time. I m so proud of him.

Our son successfully completed the program at Shepherd's Hill Academy, and he is home now and doing well. We formed such close relationships with the staff there, it feels like our family has grown. Our son too talks often with his mentor and with several close friends he made there. Shepherd's Hill Academy poured so much love into our family. Now that love is spilling over in our healed relationship with our son and in the friendships we will treasure for a lifetime.

Shepherd's Hill Academy has been such a blessing to us and our son. We have always prayed that our children would learn to love Jesus, and in this past year at Shepherd's Hill Academy, our son finally found the Lord. The change in him is remarkable. He is respectful and considerate, a total change of heart. We are so thankful that God used this difficult time in our lives to pursue our son for His glory. We want to thank all of the staff and mentors who spent so much time pouring into his life. Your patience and love have changed his life forever.

If your teen is struggling in life, the staff at Shepherd's Hill Academy can save your teen from a lifetime of destruction. That is absolutely priceless to all of us parents that are experiencing this great pain.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
