Peoples Baptist Academy

Peoples Baptist Academy is well respected in the Atlanta area and is known for its high academics. The teachers are among the best I have ever seen. Many of them have more than 30 years of teaching experience. My children attended PBA and my grandchildren are now attending, and our family loves it. They have a lot to offer and their facilities are beautiful, but the best thing about them is what you find when you walk through their doors.

To the august 18th poster, re-check your facts. All the teachers at this school are NOT college graduates. In fact, some have never even been to college. Some of the teachers are caring individuals. Some are power hungry, self serving and their salvation could be questionable. If they really are accredited, it would be safe to say they paid for it.

Our family loves Peoples Baptist Academy. It offers a well rounded experience that includes strong academics, sports, and fine arts. The teachers and faculty are very qualified, some even holding masters degrees. The class size is small offering individual attention to all students. The school environment is caring and encouraging to all students and families. The administration encourages parental involvement. My children have thrived in this environment and I would not have them anywhere else.

We love Peoples Baptist Academy. My kids have no desire to go anywhere else. Many of the high school classes are advance learning where the graduates are able to test out of some of the college English and Math classes. We are very pleased with the qualifications of the teachers. As part of being fully accredited, the teachers are college graduates and are well trained to educate the students. This school will provide a Christian atmosphere to help develop you child both academically and spiritually.

To the previous reviewer who submitted a negative comment, the academic program at Peoples is far superior than many public school programs. The school definitely scores well above public school averages in SAT testing. One graduate who did particularly well received a huge scholarship to Auburn University. The majority of teachers hold a bachelor's degree in their area of teaching and several have master's degrees. One of the administrative staff is also working on a doctorate. I would say qualifications are doing well. Besides, "real education" begins in the home.

Teacher Qualifications are questionable, standardized testing (SAT schores) are low. These children are not getting a real education. But it is a safe environment.

Great place! It is refreshing to be in a school with a principal who knows what he is doing and is leading the school in a great direction. The teachers love the students and there is a great quality academic program. The school is strong on structure and organization, and it's nice to see that the teachers are in charge and not the students. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a traditional education in a structured environment!

I love Peoples Baptist Academy. It has been my privilege to work there for many years. I know the staff to be both personable and professional. Many of the teachers have their masters or doctorate degrees. Students who graduate do well in college or in the work force. Many students have been able to exempt out of math and English classes in college; and many of the graduates hold high positions, working as air traffic contollers, in government offices, and more. Teachers and staff genuinely take a personal interest in the students.

I am a former student of this school, and I greatly disliked my experience here. This school uses the ABeka cirriculum, which is great for elementary school, but lacks in the middle/high school level. I was always bored in my classes. I happened to have a teacher that felt that it was her job to ignore me and give me lower grades because she disliked me; once, she gave me a grade that was low that I felt was unfair, and I took it to the principal, who made her change the grade. I would say that this school is okay, if you agree 100% with their beliefs/values. Also, If your child has a more independent personality, I would urge you to not send him/her there. I feel that, during my time there, independence was discouraged. How will an adult function if they aren't independent?

This is my childrens first year here, and they both seem to love it. In the beginning I thought that my daughter would struggle coming from a public school. To my surprise, her grades and attitude are even better now. I am a strong believer now that the atmosphere and environment plays a big role in your child's behavior. I placed me kids in private because the public schools in this county are very disappointing and extremely easy.

Peoples, like all schools, has positives and negatives. On the plus side, they offer a strict bible based A Beka Curriculum. Small Class Sizes allow for increased 1 on 1 attention. They offer many sports and other extra curricular activities. As a bonus the price is right for parents seeking a bible based education for their children. On the negative side, they are way too strict on everything from dress code to what you can't do outside of school. A lot of the staff is tough to deal with; although the administrator is a very nice understanding person. They lack many programs that you might expect from a larger school. Overall my son has amazed me at the things he has learned there, but I feel like he might be a little behind other students as I transfer him to a larger school in the coming year.

PBA is a well rounded academic and athletic school my children enjoy going to school each day knowing they do not have to be scared about being judged by their clothes since they wear uniforms. It is a safe and well disciplined environment.

PBA uses the ABeka curriculum here and is best as far as reading writing and arithmetic are concerned. We attended for 2 yrs. The teachers are loving and concerned and my children excelled. There are no sports programs for under jr high age although they have excellent facilities. Parents are encouraged to come on field trips and help out on special occasions. I personally had a problem with the uniform code for boys (long pants khaki, navy)which I thought was not practical in the summer. torn knees and stains made it more expensive as well. Definitely a conservative school and parents are expected to uphold the dress codes as well(ladies in skirts,men in slacks.) This is a super organized school which helps make life simpler for the busy parent. Your child will definitely progress and get extra attention if needed to catch up, mine did!

We have been at PBA going on three years and love the close knit community. There is a strong sense of family values and strong morales taught. It is a blessing to have found this school.
