As some would also say in other elementary schools in Walton Co. that they have the best school. I also can say that about WPES. Teachers, parents and PTO all get along great and truly care about all children there. We as a community are truly blessed to have the greatest elementary school around.

I really do not understand the five out of ten stars! This school scores highest in the CRCT each year. We moved here five years ago and my daughter exceeds on the CRCT every year. The principals and staff all know our kids by name? How many schools can say that? I really do not trust these rankings anymore. This school is great!

Walker park has always been a great school. Before the redistricting (read: minority bussing), I felt the education kids received at Walker Park was comparable to that of private schools in the area. The faculty and staff are for the most part very good. As with any school, each classroom is seperate from the others, and it is hit or miss with what teacher you get. The new school seems very nice. I think that a school not made of brick and mortar, however, but by the people who fill it. Parent envolvement is very high, and that always makes a school better.

Love, love, love Walker Park. Everyone from the front office to the administation to the teachers to the custodians are wonderful. They personally get to know your child. I've got two that go there, starting at Pre-K and up. Their move to the new WPES on Carl Davis will only make it better.

If you have a child with special needs I highly suggest you go to a different school. I have a dd that is special needs and they do not teach her. Have had several meeting with the school to try and resolve things and help my dd to be successful. School does not have the programs needed for special needs children and they easily give up on them.

I have been so pleased with this school. Unlike other schools, all the staff seems to work well together and with parents. Such a big improvement over Monroe Primary. Walker Park is such a positive invironment. The principal seems genuinely concerned about each child and doesn't get so defensive when I have a concern. I feel very good about having my child in this school.

My 2 children just completed their 1st year here--we came from a private christian school. We are highly pleased with their progress. They learned just as much as in the private school and had much more exposure to the arts (surprise). They went to The High Museum, saw the Atlanta Symphony and learned manners at The Blue Willow Restaurant. All this and no tuition! This school has grown and the teachers are very involved. I hope next year is just as good!

The Principal was new to our school last year, but is so much better than the last one. He is so involved with the students and actually teaches some classes on occasions! He is kind to the students and teachers and you can tell the teachers like working for him!
