Have two sons attending this school for the first time. Working to have them into another school come next year. Teacher in my oldest son's class plays Rap music & tells him to stop telling so much when theres the same kid bullying him around. My other son is very smart but the teacher cant keep him interested as he finishes his assignments & seeks more. This is not the place to be unless you wish for your kid to do just enough, be average or less and you don't expect much from the teacher.
My children have been going here for 4 years. My child has had Mrs. Widmer for the past 2 years. She is the best teacher! Keeps parents involved and updated. My child has grown so much in her class.
Blaine Street Elementary School is becoming a premier school. It is a Title 1 School of Distinction with great new teachers and a new principal who cares. I just wish they could get a new building that they so deserve!
My children are going to another school next year but I must say that last year was pretty low. The teachers as always did their best working with the students with no leadership. The climate at the school is very bad. I actually went to speak to the AP about how he was treating one of the best teachers there. I wonder what will happen to this school next year. It will be called Blaine Street Elementary and will be K-5 instead of K-2 as it has been in the past. I am glad to have my child out of there for next year. We have been redistricted to another school. Thank Goodness!
Even though this school is not my favorite at handlins matters. My son had two wonderful teachers. Mr. Hendrix for kindergarten and Ms. Mapp for first grade. Mr. Hendrix was an awesome teacher just what the school needed. Ms. Mapp was patient and very attentive to her students. They gave me their cell phone numbers and I handled pretty much everything directly through them. It was two great years because of them. Thank you Mr. hendrix and ms. Mapp! Mrs. Lovell
My son has had the best teachers the 2 years he has been at mps. Mr.Hendrix and mrs.Corcoran .I think mps is a great school.
This school is terrible. They need alot more parent involvement and they need some leadership that cares!
My child attends MPS and i love it. Her teacher is the best. The princial and assistant are always willing to help. The office staff always greet me with a smile and is always willing to help me everytime i'm there. MPS is a great place to be!!!!
I love MPS. My son attends 1st grade. The teachers have been very helpful. My experiences for the most part have been great. Monroe Primary School has been a very good school for me and my son. All the staff has been nice too. Hats off to the teachers.Their job is tough.
i love the teachers at MPS-they are helpful and courteous to mysely and my children-the principal and assistant principal are completely able to manage the job with-out forgetting the human aspect-the others are always nice-nurse Hattie is an angel-i absolutely love the pre-k teachers-they are so good with the little ones by understanding that this is a new and sometimes scary experience for students-they also promote parental involvement in the classroom and on the many field trips that they take-the first grade teacher of one of my children is very impressive-she is kind and she truly loves and cares about each and every one of her students and the education they receive-overall MPS is a great school but i also feel that part of the office staff should and could be alot nicer
