My children finished up this school last yr. The building is completely out dated, its shocking that someone hasn't ever come in and forced new development. When my kids first started they had Principal Griffin, then Sawyer, now Dr Carter, who is amazing!!! He turned the system completely around, he went from letting his teachers write thier own class agendas to reviewing them and giving a yes or no. He has improved the kids math, science and reading scores by 10-15% in one yr! We were above the states guidelines for those core classes and testing. He enjoys getting to know your kids, even makes sure he pronounces thier names correctly before handing out awards and such. I know that sounds trivial, but after three kids, with basic names, and yrs of recieving perfect attendance, a honor roll, ab honor roll, citizenship, math masters, gifted, most athletic awards (i mean thier list goes on and on) 4 times a yr, for 5-6 yrs a piece the last principal never once said any of my kids names correctly. Makes a huge difference, they respect this new man! The adminstration is good, the nurse is rude and hateful, not sometimes but all the time. Over all best school in this county!

NPS is off to a great start with a new principal, Ms. Evon Griffin. Ms. Griffin is involved with the school and its issues, and also with parents and students. I think NPS offers a good foundation for its students to build upon.
