Smokey Road is one of the most terrible schools I have ever had my children in. They have a problem with bullying by students and TEACHERS and no one cares enough to do anything about it. My son was told to TELL an adult if someone was bullying him. One teacher told him to write it down on a note and give it to her. The school year is nearly over and after several several notes written they are still bullying him. One of the 6th grade teachers uses intimidation and hateful language to be little the students. What kind of example is that for our children who NEED their education and have no choice but to attend this school. Anyone thinking about moving to the Smokey Road school district should really really consider a different area.
This so is horrible. The Staff is great but the Principal is an hoe. She Slept with an other Principal in her office she should got fired.Laurie Barron.
Both of my boys attend Smokey Road Middle and they are both will be attending 7th grade next year and both of my boys are different 1 of my sons needs lots of help and he gets what help is needed with no problem the teachers want to help all that need it and do a fine job,my other son does just fine on his own. Thank You Smokey Road Middle
This is a really great school all seven of my kids have been to this school and the princpal is great and teriffic.
As a former employee, I can attest to the high population of students with special needs. The ability to be consistent is very challenging and sometimes results in inequities. The goal is to have more parental involvement in the classroom and in after school programs. Open communication is key!
Smokey Road is a great school. My son transferred in the middle of 7th grade and was greeted with open arms. I am very pleased with everyone that I have had contact with at SRMS. Dr Barron really cares about the students and the teachers. My son is getting a lot better education at Smokey than he did at his former middle school in Coweta County. I am pleased with the availability of the extracurricular activities and my son is involved in several. I would recommend Smokey Road Middle to anyone that has middle school age children.
This is not a wonderful school, they allow kids to be bullied and turn their heads. If your child is struggling they write them off. If your child is not an A/B student and popular forget this school, not only will your child be miserable but you will be too. The principals and asst. principals don't care.
Our first year of middle school was a great experience. We had great teachers!
