My son has been going to Atkinson 5 years now. I have to agree the teachers are great. My concern is the parents. There is a real lack of involvement with the parents and PTO. We need to change this for the kids. I challenge all working and stay at home working parents find an hour or two to get involved with the PTO. Our president is great and the kids are the one who will win. If you don't know what to do or who to contact call the school they will be so very happy to give you the information. Hope to see you at the next PTO meeting.

This is the first year my son has attended Atkinson. I have been impressed from the very beginning. I believe a school can only do as well as it's leadership in setting the example. Well Mr. Bass exceeds the example. My husband and I are so impressed by his willingness to go above and beyond the bar. He motivates his professional and exceptional Teacher's. Mrs. Phyllis is a fine example of what a Teacher should be,and Kim Ward is true dedication. Mr. Bass also sets such a high standard for my son to admire and wish to model. In my opinion, having a great leader will motivate and inspire the staff to go to great lengths, which they have proven over and over again. The parental involvement is amazing. I strongly support and praise Atkinson school for being more than I could have ever imagined! Praise all!!!!

In the 4 years since we moved to Atkinson I have had 4 children enrolled in this school. I cannot say enough positive things about the teachers. I have had children in every grade over the 4 years. I will, without reservation, vouch for the dedication of these teachers to educate their students even in the most difficult of special needs situations. The teacher for the Gifted program is unquestionable the best! Our experience with the Speech program has proven most successful for our daughter. Atkinson is a small, friendly school with enormous support from the neighborhood that surrounds it. A great number of the children here are from 2nd and 3rd generation alumni which makes the parental support uncomparable. Great PTA program and parent volunteer base. Media Center and Specials classes are all lead by exceptional people.

My sons have been enrolled @ Atkinson for 2 years now.I can't tell you how impressed I am with the Principal,Vince Bass and the teaching staff. My sons have had excellent teachers, great support, and they go to a school with a terrific atmosphere. There is so much caring that seems to come from all the staff, and any extra curricular activities I am always surprised @ all the seemingly volunteer attitude of the staff, and how many of the teachers actually show up! My children enjoy this school,it is a very small, old school that has been kept up very well. The teachers are very qualified, and for the bad blood that seems to be flowing in this school system of Coweta county,I'm glad to see it is not shown here in this school.I think the staff does an excellent job.
