I have 2 kids in Western. My oldest is in 5th and has been at Western since 1st and I have a 1st grader as well. It is my opinion that the teachers and the staff work very hard for our students and they encouraged each student to do their very best. I appriciate all that the teachers and staff do.

I love this school. My son is going into the 3rd grade. But he has alot of trouble with his class due to ADD. But all the teachers and principals are very supportive with him. They are a very Patrotic school. His father was in Iraq for 2 years, the school was very caring and supportive with that too. I couldn't ask for a more caring and supportive staff and school that this.

My son has been attending Western for the past 2 years. We love the 'Eagles' and the school. It has one of the largest 'REACH' classes in the system (gifted and talented). And I think that speaks for itself regarding the teaching staff at Western, and is the oldest school in the district. We have music classes for all grade levels, a chorus program, 4-H, and Kiwanis Kids Club. As you pass through the cafeteria/assembly doors, you will see a proud display of trophies and awards that this school has received throughout its many years, whether it be a high school, a middle school, or an elementary. This school has lots of character and lots of life. If you are looking for a more 'modern looking', or more 'recently built school', then this school is not for you. This school has lots of appeal and offers as much as the others.

People say that Western is one of the better schools in Newnan but I have yet to see it. It's pretty family oriented and safe, but the teachers just don't seem to have it all together. But what can I say, how often has GA been rated 49th or 50th for nat'l test scores? If you're moving to Newnan, consider Atkinson or Arbor Springs or Canongate rather than Western. Sorry if this sounded so nasty but it is just my opinion.

We currently have a child enrolled in kindergarten here. She also attended their pre-k last year and it was absolutely wonderful. So far this year we have all been very, very pleased.
