If you have any sort of special needs, ADHD, Asperger's, stay away from this school. I asked for special needs testing to be done and the teacher asked me why I just didn't pay for it...how about because it's your schools job? I had mentioned to the teacher when school started that my son had Aspergers and my son was quirky. Not even the first week went by and the principal was calling us to talk to us about our son being expelled. I have no experience with the younger grades only the higher ones and they both failed my children. I'm actually surprised this school is rated as high as it is, my children have been in plenty of schools across the nation and this was the worst elementary school we've ever encountered. There are some good teachers here that I loved who did their best, but overall I wouldn't give this school a chance again if I could do it over again.

My child is in 3rd grade, and some signs of ADD, and torrets, and his teacher has been wonderful. We are very happy with the education he's received. His teacher is very patient with him, and keeps us informed on his progress which has been great over the last year. Our daughter is in Kindergarten, and is also in a special education/speech program, and the school has been very proactive in getting her involved in the programs early. I really love this school, and the teachers.

Before Welch elementary was built, Newnan Crossing had over 1100 students. They did an incredible job trying to manage such an overpopulation of students. Now they have half the amount of students and you can imagine how much that has helped. Newnan Crossing continues to improve year after year and is destined to be a top 3 Elementary school in Coweta county within a year or two.

We have been at NCES for 4 years now and absolutely love it! Our children receive a wonderful education from teachers that approach their job like a neighbor to neighbor relationship. The famous saying 'It takes a 'community' to raise a child' speaks loud at NCES! The teachers, staff, and parents on the PTO are committed to making sure each child is equipped with the materials needed. We mean it when we say 'Soaring to Success'!!!

My daughter went to this school last year, 2007 - 2008 school year, she abolutely hated it and so did I. She was in the first grade and learned nothing that she didn't learn at her Kindergarten school (Roopville Elementary). When we moved to Coweta county, we heard how great this school was but I think people just don't know how bad the school is because they haven't been to a good one. We quickly decided to move at the end of the school year to get our daughter into a better school for 2nd grade and our son in a good school for Kindergarten.

I was a little intimidated by the size of Newnan Crossing Elementary, but Principal Lassiter has done a great job at running this school. The teachers are so welcoming and inviting. The school is so organized and committed to the success of each child, it's amazing. The dedication on behalf of the staff makes sending my daughter there a pleasure. As a 1st grader, my daughter is so independent and learning so much and I credit Newnan Crossing Elementary for creating an enviornment where this is possible. The best school in Newnan award goes to....Newnan Crossing Elementary!

I would love to see my child get the opportunity to play outside more than once a week! It appears as though sometimes it is far too important to teach the children how to perform on tests rather simply be children and learn through experiences. My child has learned how to copy things very well. I guess it is up to me to teach her to be creative and think outside the box.

I love Newnan Crossing and so does my children. The administration and staff are friendly and very efficient. I have had children at NCES since 2001 and have been very pleased with the school and the supportive and positive atomoshpere that is felt throughout the school.
