Country Brook Montessori School Some negative comments have been posted on this site by a disgruntled past employee. Reviews can be helpful but not when they are a misrepresentation of the truth. I have worked here for 4 years and can honestly say ALL the staff at the school are dedicated and committed to ensuring every child in their care receives the best possible start in life following the Montessori methods. The classrooms are full of happy, engaged children who love coming to school, love learning, love their teachers and are individually excelling, both academically and socially. Don't take my word for it come and see for yourself!

This school is pretty good with the curriculum. One of the afternoon teachers is rough with the younger kids. The bathrooms are dirty sometimes.

I think parents should do their research before sending their children to this school. After observing this school for (4) years this administration is very poor. Please beware before sending your children here!!!!

Please be aware that the director of this school is abusive to the children. I had to remove my child because the Director Jim rough housed my child. Don't just take my word for it. Call bright from the start because there are complaints on file about this guy. He treats all minorities like they are incompetent and that is unfortunate seeing that the majority if the children are minorities. I keep in touch with a lot of parents and it seems that the enrollment if this school has decreased dramatically since last year. Jim is the common denominator for all complaints. Beware!!

My child has been going here for 6 months and overall, I am happy with and feel they do an excellent job. The tuition is a tremendous value compared to other progressive alternatives. For me it's a great fit for our budget, location, and free thinking educational goals. It has fostered a fierce sense of independence with my child who now wants to do EVERYTHING by herself. They are supportive and kind but I would not describe the culture as loving. Maybe it is the Montessori way, but there is a "stiff upper lip" culture which can be tough on small children. I like that they serve a hot lunch and snacks and the mealplan got OK'd by my nutritionist. Although they seem to rely heavily on processed salty foods. Compared to our previous school, though, there are often fresh fruits and vegetables offered which was a plus. I appreciate that they view this as "school" and do their best to present big world concepts to small kids. Overall, they do "great things" here. My biggest complaint is personality of the head administrator who I find often presumptous and condesending. Also, they are very firm about 8:30 am attendance and many parents have trouble with making the drop off.

County Brook is a school that reflects the global community. It is a wonderful benefit to my daughter, who has been attending this school since she was 18 months old and now 6, to experience disparate cultures and world views within the context of a great education. The teachers and staff are what make this school great. From their very special attention to each child and their untiring involvement with both students and their parents, the teachers and staff really make the school a place that students actually enjoy attending.

Great school. We have 3 children at CBMS and have had great success with education. The school and staff are well designed to implement early childhood development. I really encourage parents to consider this schools candidacy for their child/children.

I have 7 years invested in my children at CBMS. My son, of whom is now in the elementary program has really thrived in the environment here. He started in the toddler program and soared through the primary (3-6) and is now in 1st grade. They have truly cultivated the best in my son and as a result he is reading on a 3rd+ grade level and 2nd+ grade math. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding biology, geography and general natural history. His handwriting is of a 3rd grader + and he is truly a gentleman. It is a school that reflects the global community.

This is an excellent Montessori program. I have 2 kids in early childhood classrooms. Both were previously in the Toddler class. My kids are learning to read pre-kindergarten and are picking up valuable math skills and enjoying the varied learning activities. I appreciate the dress-code, which doesn't require a single uniform.

Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
